Maharana Pratap Group of Instituitions, is proud to have a dental college known as Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur which was established in 2005 under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ram Singh Bhadauria, and his son, Mr. Shailendra Bhadauria, (Secretary, MPGI) with a strong vision of fulfilling all aspirations of young professionals in the field of dentistry. Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur is approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The intake is 100 students per year, permitted by DCI. The vision of Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur is to fulfil the aspirations of those students who wish to obtain a professional education in the field of dentistry and to strive for excellence in dental education, practice, community service and research. Institute aims to develop and to raise dental professionals in advancing oral health care.
Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur campus is spread over a huge area of 10 acres of land and is located on the GT Road at Mandhana, about 5 kms from IIT, Kanpur. There are separate laboratories for each clinical and non-clinical specialty. Clinics as well as labs are equipped with latest instruments and equipments from reputed international companies. Required safety measures are needed to set up these laboratories in order to prevent accidents and radiation hazards etc. All these equipments are subjected to preventive maintenance and calibrated regularly to ensure proper working for accurate results and their functioning. Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur is having well-stocked library with the provision of internet facility caters to the Academic needs of the student. It is constructed in a huge area & is the strength of the Institution since it has a well laid out digital library adjoining the main library. It includes reading room, general section, and staff reading room, draftery & binder room as well as reprographic section. The clinical books consist of most modern and international standard books. There are 4000 books with 350 titles. There is sufficient no. of periodicals as well as availability of 11 international journals. Photocopier facility is also available in the library. The library has the capacity to intake 150 students at time. Separate hostels for boys & girls are present within the Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur campus. It has a power generator backup system which provides 24 hours of electricity & water supply for the convenience of the students. The hostel facility provides a true meaning to the saying “Home away from home and live & learn together.” Wardens have been appointed by the management that stay within the campus to have a check and cater the needs of the students. Free Dental Camps are being organised ever since the inception of dental institution. They are organised in the surrounding rural localities where patients are provided free consultation and treatment. These camps are also used as a forum of awareness regarding dental hygiene and oral health.
Students play an active role in these camps under the supervision of the dental faculty, these camps serve the twin objective of practical exposure to the students and also to serve humanity. Health care services are provided to the students as well as the faculty. A 100 bedded multi-speciality hospital is also situated in the college campus to provide their services whenever required. Ambulance and other required facilities are also available round the clock.
There are four huge lecture cum tutorial halls in Maharana Pratap Dental College – MPDC Kanpur which are used for teaching as well as for conducting seminars. The lecture halls can accommodate 100 students at a time. All the halls are fully equipped with proper teaching aids like cordless microphone, conferencing system, over head projector, LCD with personal computer attachments with audio visual media to provide effective training to the trainees.
