Since its inception in 1928 the college has been a forerunner in the impartment and inculcation of the highest of educational and ethical standards. At present Govt Dungar College – Bikaner proudly offers a range of 22 subjects including Sciences, Commerce and Humanities at the undergraduate level. Govt Dungar College – Bikaner Library is the hub of learning with a rich collection of about 1,31,878 books, standard reference sources. The library subscribes to around 12 periodicals/ Journals. The library Reading Rooms can accommodate around 50 students. The Library is open on all working days from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The timings of the Library during the examinations and the vacations will be informed from time to time. It will be closed on Sundays & holidays. Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, and other kinds of work which are in constant demand, costly books and other books which may from time to time be considered necessary for ready reference are placed in this section. Reference books may be referred to only within the premises of the library.
The facilities of important indoor and outdoor games is available in Govt Dungar College – Bikaner such as hockey, cricket, volley-ball, table-tennis, lawn-tennis, badminton, chess etc. There are two posts of P.T.I. in the college. In addition, Professor-in-charges are appointed for selection and participation activities. During the recess hours for refreshment to students College canteen facility with snacks etc. The control on canteen contractor is done by administrative person on food quality and strictly prohibiting smoking in canteen as well as in and around the campus.The canteen works from 9.00 a.m. To 5.00p,m to provide food at subsidized rate.
The Placements at Govt Dungar College – Bikaner are handled by the Campus Placement Cell (CPC). It is a student-run society and organizes the entire recruitment procedure from calling up the companies to hosting placement talks to the recruitment procedure. The placement structure is designed to encourage maximum job offer acceptance by students. The present structure ensures that more students get placed in the desired job and only students genuinely interested in position apply, thus making the whole process more effective for students and recruiters alike. Above 10 companies recruited from our campus in 2007-08. The number of job offers made on campus exceeded 45 last year. The average salary offered was Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum. The highest compensation offered was Rs. 15 lakhs per annum. Last year the CPC had 3 companies offering in the range of INR 10-15 lakhs,5 in the range of INR 5-10 lakhs and 13 others in the range of INR 3-5 lakhs.
