The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology - Markham was established during the formation of Ontario’s college system in 1967. The Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology were established on May 21, 1965. The school was founded as part of a provincial initiative to provide career-oriented diploma and certificate courses, as well as continuing education programs to Ontario communities.
Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology - Markham offers more than an education. With campuses throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Seneca’s size and diversity give students the advantage of partnerships with industry leaders, the latest in hands-on computer technology, a variety of class sizes, and full-time, part-time and continuing education options. Education should be flexible and accessible, so Seneca also employs various methods of teaching – from in-class lectures and online learning to co-op and field placements – in programs related to applied arts, business, financial services,and technology.
Throughout this year, Seneca will be developing master plans for buildings, programs and natural environments at our campuses. This is the first time in the Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology - Markham history that master plans will be performed for any of our campuses. Seneca has retained the national design firm Dialog to facilitate the research, architectural planning, program review and interviews required for the master plans.
A master plan provides a thorough examination of a campus’s assets and possibilities and serves as a broad vision for its future development. Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology - Markham Campus opened its doors in 2005, becoming the first post-secondary education facility in the Town of Markham. The campus is home to full and part-time programs in the areas of business, marketing, tourism and aviation.
The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology - Markham Libraries provide students, faculty and staff with resources and services both online and on-site to enhance academic pursuits.
