Govt Chhatrasal Maharaja College – Chhatarpur was established by awakened citizens of the city in 1964. In non Government College only arts and Commerce faculties. It became a Govt. college on dated 1st Oct. 1982 with Arts, Commerce and Science streams up to degree classes. In 2002 with the efforts of Jan Bhagidhari Samiti Post Graduate Classes were started in sociology, History, Hindi and Commerce. At present the college is situated at a distance of one KM from the city on a hill, having its own building with sufficient teaching rooms and laboratory for practical with sufficient equipment. It is a matter of great significance that Govt Chhatrasal Maharaja College – Chhatarpur is developing with different achievements providing study facilities in all the faculties. UGC has granted grants in 7th, 8th and 9th five year plans for books equipments, library and building. Few teaching rooms have been constructed with the help of public and teaching staff.
