Indira Gandhi National Open University - IGNOU Madurai was established on 18.01.2008. The Office is located at C.S.I. Institutional Campus, TPK Road, Pasumalai, Madurai. It has a jurisdiction over 18 districts in Tamil Nadu. A new building for IGNOU Regional Center at Madurai is under construction by CPWD and will be ready by May 2010.

The library has the largest collection of books, journals and other related materials in the field of Distance Education, throughout the country. The Library was established in 1986 in tune with the objectives of IGNOU.
