Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem was established in the year 1982, and approved by the Government of Tamilnadu, All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi and recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi to offer Diploma course in Pharmacy. The college has an annual intake of 120 students; so far 8 batches of students have passed out successfully from this college and are practicing pharmacy throughout India and in some parts of the world. In 1993 the trust had started a four year degree course (B.Pharma).
Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem is the pioneer institution in the trust, which plays a vital role in the field of Pharmacy. There is an ever-increasing demand for Pharmacist in India and abroad. To cater the needs of the young aspirants, with a focused objective of bringing about intellectual awakening of people around and to prepare man power capable to contribute effectively towards national development particularly economic development.
Students have passed out from Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem successfully and they are practicing Pharmacy in India and abroad. Subsequently in the year 1993 the Govt. of Tamilnadu has accorded its approval for starting of B.Pharma Degree course. In the year 2003, the college started Post graduate course in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical analysis. Now it has become a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation of Deemed University.
Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem is not our intention merely to add one more college to the existing number of colleges in India. It shall be our great endeavour to develop this college as a 'CENTRE FOR LEARNING". The basic aim is to develop a Pharmacist who is not only a specialist in his field, but also a useful member in the society with compassion, confidence and competence to serve patients effectively and safely. Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem is provided with best laboratory facilities like latest machinery, instruments etc., so as to acquire latest knowledge to fit themselves in any of the best Pharmaceutical industries on par with international standard.

Computer Centre of Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy – Salem caters to the needs of academic departments and various sections of the institute. The Computer Centre, housed in a spacious building is well equipped with the latest machines viz. HP and DELL machines, etc. A heterogeneous Intranet Network of around 150 nodes under different OS like Linux, Windows is setup and maintained regularly. The Centre has dedicated 2 Mbps leased line. It provides Internet facilities to the users in all the departments, Central Library, faculty rooms and offices. The same facility has also been extended to student hostels etc.
