JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani was established in the year 2000, the sprawling 17.5 acres campus with built up area of 26,105 Sq.m. is located in Kalyani, 55 Kms North of Kolkata. It is also the Center for Management Studies and School of Polytechnic. JIS College of Engineering has an enrollment of 2787 students pursuing various courses offered (2198 Male & 589 Female) and includes 28 foreign students.
JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani is the cherished vision of Sardar Jodh Singh. A self-made industrialist of repute, Sardar Jodh Singh strongly believed that every individual should give something back to the society that has nurtured him. He felt that providing quality educational infrastructure in a developing country like India is a social need. Accordingly, he envisaged an institution that would be a centre of excellence and international repute in techno-commercial education & research and also churn out young professionals who are socially aware and committed. Spurred by such a vision, Sardar Jodh Singh founded the JIS Foundation - a public charitable trust - dedicated to the social cause for providing higher education in country.

College offers different kind of bachelor and master courses leading to different streams.
JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani is located in Block 'A', Phase-III, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal. Laboratory facility of JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani has separate modern workshop, machine shop, fitting shop, etc. that meet the practical needs of engineering courses. The College has modern well-equipped laboratories to meet the requirements of hands-on training for various engineering disciplines. System lab and Cyber Centre facility of JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani has over 500 (Pentium 4) computers of high-end configurations housed in eight special air-conditioned labs. These labs are fully equipped with leased line broadband Internet access facility and latest software integrated into a networked system with private servers. There are matching peripherals like printers, modems, scanners etc.
Library facility of JIS College of Engineering – Kalyani has the relevant books and reference materials for study and is continuously being expanded on a regular basis providing the students access to electronic information sources. As per the last estimate the library has over 18000 books, several National, International Journals and reference materials. It has facilities to enable use and access to multi-media education tools like CDs, projectors etc. The library has a spacious reading area for the students and flexible operational hours.

The seminars and the workshops are conducted by eminent educationists & industrialists from reputed Institutions & Industries.

The laboratory aims at encouraging students to learn language in practical and interesting ways.
