Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur was established on 1 st July 1963, a catholic Christian minority institution to impart higher Education for rural women and for a long time the only women college in Tenali town of Guntur District of A.P. Jesus Mary Joseph (J.M.J) College for woman is one of the educational institutions set up by the Congregation of the sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. (Sisters of J.M.J). Inspired by the teaching and life of Jesus Christ. The college is a minority institution, registered under the societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur founder Sr.Stanislas Swamikannu is the architect of JMJ apostolate of education in India, a valiant coo men who's my aim was the “glory of god”. Spartan in sprint, Sanguine and Solemn, Quintessence of 20th centaury in her out look on education and humanization interest. Her indomitable energy, unflinching courage and broad vision, saw the network of educational activities in the much needed state of Andhra pradesh.

Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur library has specialized collections in various subjects. It holds quantities of books to meet the demands of both the students and the faculty. The library staff includes a librarian, Assistant librarian, programmer and four attenders. Library is placed in the center of our college. It opens at 7:00AM and closes at 7:00PM. Library has minimum infrastructure facilities such as a staff area, reading hall, periodical section, circulation counter, information display. Total collection books are classified. It is according to bewey decimal classification, easy to find to which subject it belongs as the card catalogue in maintain up to date. Total collection of Documents : There are total number of 37,478 books which includes Text books, Book Bank, U.G.C, reference, General - 7550, 5143, 2605, 2350, 19830 respectively. Minimum no. of Books issued to the staff is about 10 for students 2 books, for ST, SC student's 3 books.
Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur library has the credit of comprising 9 international journals,(Quarterly & Monthly) 7 international magazines, weeklies and newsletters, 9 National Journals, 22 other magazines, weeklies and careers(month), 7 daily news papers which include 3 English and Telugu and 9 other news papers. In this Library we have, 47 present volumes of Periodical - Journals and magazines, 14 Back volumes of Journals and magazines for MCA 5 Back volumes of Journals & Magazines for M. Sc. Maths and 2 for M.Sc Physics. ST, SC, BC students avail themselves special opportunities in issuing of books. Total no.of ST, Sc & BC students - 103 and Total no.of Books issued to them are 155.
Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur separate hostel facilities are provided for Inter, U.G and P.G students in the campus. More than half of the college students seek admission in the hostels. There are four blocks named as Jyothi, Stanislaus, Vanitha and Maries. Jyothi block is meant for intermediate students accommodating 109 students in 24 rooms. Each room accommodates 5 students. Two degree blocks namely Stanislaus and Vanitha consisting of 142 rooms accommodating 673 students. A separate block for P.G is newly constructed with 14 rooms accommodating 58 students. A recreation hall cum study hall with facilities like T.V, News papers, Tables and Chairs are provided. The faculty can also make use of hostel facilities in case of need.
There is health centre at Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur to provide medical aid facilities for the students. Dr. K. Sridevi, M.B.B.S., D.G.O., a qualified medical practitioner of Tenali is appointed as a visiting doctor. She visits the campus every Wednesday. A full time nurse is also residing in the hostel to attend for the cases to provide first aid.
There is well maintained garden attached to Administrative Block and a separate Botanical garden. There is a full time gardener to nurse the plants. The Botanical garden consists of a large number of important trees, shrubs and plants useful for Botany practical. Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur augmented the infrastructure to keep pace with academic needs and growth. It has been periodically enhancing the available facilities with new constructions and additions. This is with the resources of the management J.M.J. Society and Benefactors. A nursery was maintained in our college by the department of social forestry, Guntur. Aquarium fish breeding was maintained in our college by the department of Zoology.
There are excellent physical infrastructure facilities provided for Sports and Games at Jesus Mary Joseph College for Women - JMJ College for Women Guntur . Total area allotted for play ground-28800 Sq.ft provisions made for Major Games. All the departments of this institution have formed a club of its own respective department with its respective faculty and with twenty student in each club.
