Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa owes its existence to the keen interest of Late Kandula Obul Reddy to develop technical education in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. With a view to translating his noble ideal of imparting technical education into reality, a Technical Training Institute at Vempalli, Kadapa District was started in 1979 under the aegis of Sri Kandula Obul Reddy charities. It is in the year 1980 that K.S.R.M. College of Engineering was established to perpetuate the memory of Late Sri. Srinivasa Reddy, youngest son of Late Sri Obul Reddy. Sri Srinivasa Reddy, a brilliantstudent of III year Mechanical Engineering at Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi, met with his untimely death in a scooter accident on 18th Oct, 1979. Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa was formally inaugurated on 14 November 1980 by Sri T. Anjaiah, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and it started functioning from the academic year 1980-81. Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa with an aura of academic excellence is situated in a serene and congenial atmosphere 7 kms away from Kadapa town on Kadapa-Pulivendula state highway. A three storeyed central library of the college, the depository of knowledge serves the needs of the students, the staff and the faculty.The library is so spacious that it can accommodate nearly 400 visitors at a time.
At present Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa library has about 30,000 volumes and is constantly being strengthened by adding new literature in the form of encyclopedias, periodicals, Text books, Reference books, Journals of National and International repute and CD-ROM. In addition to this, basic literature is also accessed for new programmes. Keeping in view the growing importance of this Treasure of knowledge it has completely been automated. The college runs a book bank for the benefit of students belonging to weaker sections, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The center is housed with six servers and 450 number of terminals. The facility is completely networked and it possesses round the clock I-NET connectivity.

Knowing the importance of this education and well aware of the proverb ‘A sound mind in a sound body’ the management is generously allocating funds for the department of physical education. Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa has the unique distinction of its own by having 10 acres of land for play fields which encompass two badminton courts, two volley ball Courts, one tennikoit court, one basket ball court, one throw ball court, one tennis court and two cricket grounds with well laid pitch. A 400mt. Track is laid on the campus. Facilities for running races, throws, jumps etc., are provided. Considerable facilities for indoor games like table tennis, carroms, chess etc., are provided in a spacious room. Since Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa is situated 7 Kms away from the town, the necessity of residential accommodation was felt in the beginning itself and construction of “Hostel Srinivasa” was taken up simultaneously with the construction of the college. The hostel with an accommodation of 250 was commissioned during February, 1982, with the addition of new branches and with an increase in the intake, another hostel “Kandula” identical to the former one was started and commissioned during 1993. It also accommodates 250 students. As more and more number of girls are opting to pursue engineering education, the management felt the need for a women’s hostel to provide a safe and secure residential accommodation. ‘Kandual Hostel for Women’ has thus come into being during 1999-2000. This well furnished residency accommodates 200 students. All the facilities required for comfortable stay and to prosecute academic pursuits are provided in the hostels.
As Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa is away from the hubbub of the town and the hostels on the campus can accommodate only 1/4 of the total strength, the necessity of providing transport is keenly felt by the Management who provided a fleet of 6 buses besides a van for the conveyance of staff and students. A special bus is being run for women. And also Route buses and Auto rickshaws are plying with a frequency of every 10 minutes.
An exclusive room with all facilities is provided in each block for women students for their board and brief respite during the time of their leisure. To provide more accessibility to the day scholars and the faculty, a canteen at the entrance of Kandula Sreenivasa Reddy Memorial College of Engineering – KSRMCE Kadapa is made available with all hygienic facilities. For the convenience of the students, a private party was permitted to run the stationery and book stall in the college campus. Xerox facilities are also made available in it. A branch Post Office has been functioning since 1981 to facilitate the staff and the students.
