MGITER has been started in the field of Engineering & Technology as per guidelines of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technical Education and Research Center - MGITER Navsari is run by Shri Navsari Paschim Vibhag Koli Samaj Kalyankari Trust. The trust born in 2001 by loving Koli Samaj community residing in the Navsari Paschim Vibhag (22 Villages of West Kantha Vibhag) for the Navsari-region of Gujarat to bring in social upliftment of community in general & rural community in particular through the spread of health and educational activities. Trust provides education at all levels through its network of educational & professional fields by providing them scholarships & suitable placements.

The institute has well equipped laboratories, workshop, libraries, computer centre, Drawing halls, Lecture rooms, Seminar hall & Conference room etc. Teaching is imparted in theory in classrooms & practical in lab/workshop/computer centre by well-qualified competent faculty adhering to norms prescribed by A.I.C.T.E. & the curriculum prescribed the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, SURAT.
