Netaji Subhas Memorial City College – N S M City College Cuttack was established in the name of City College, Cuttack in August, 1979 in the premises of city High School, Rajabagicha on the historic river bank of Kathajori was established by some eminent persons of the silver city with a catholic sprit to carter to the need of higher education for many meritorious students who were deprived of higher education in the city.

Netaji Subhas Memorial City College – N S M City College Cuttack was shifted ti its own building in 1983-84 session located very closely to its parent campus of Rajabagicha. The institution is highly indebted to Her Highness UMESWARI SUTU, the Maharani of Darpani State who had generous enough to grant this piece of land to the college to fulfill the desires of the founders and above all the parents and students of this college.
Netaji Subhas Memorial City College – N S M City College Cuttack is recognised by the Govt. of Orissa and was first affiliated to Utkal University. But with the change of the education pattern, the college was affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa in 1983-84 and imparts instruction in Arts, Science and Com. in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Presently there are about 2300 students qualified teachers imparting teaching in different faculties.
The college has well equipped laboratories with advanced system to fulfill the presently course curriculum. Though Netaji Subhas Memorial City College – N S M City College Cuttack library has not enough space still it has about 10.000 books, both text and reference, to cater to the need of the students and staff members. The students of College have excelled in games and sports, cultural activities and above all in the realm of academic performances over the years. It is a highly disciplined college and the students, employees have extended their whole hearted support and cooperation for the development of the college in every stages.
The charlee division of 3(O) Naval Unit N.C.C is working in the permises of Netaji Subhas Memorial City College – N S M City College Cuttack since 2000 . Since then this division has produced best N.C.C. cadets to its satisfaction. Our cadets have achieved many heights in state and all India level. Each year this division sends maximum cadets to represent our state in Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi .
