The goal of R L Institute of Animation and Media Studies - Madurai is to prepare students for well-paid jobs. We consult regularly with leaders in industry and professionals, trying to understand contemporary developments, identify jobs and internship opportunities and pinpoint skills and knowledge which will help prepare our students for new opportunities. We have 1400 volumes on Electronics, 1800 volumes on Computer and 963 volumes on Instrumentation. Our library is a learning resource centre in which we have audio-visual aids like multimedia projector, over head projector, TV, VCD player etc. which makes our learning in an efficient manner.

At present 70 girls and 25 boys students are staying in the hostel and vegetarian mess is being run on dividing system and the present daily rate Rs. 25/- in addition to the lodging charge. Our management is very interested in promoting the hostel facilities. Free food and Accommodation in the hostel is provided to some poor students.

At Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science the faculty as well as the students are encouraged and given full support to pursue their research according to various syllabus of different courses. With this objective in mind the laboratories at R L Institute of Animation and Media Studies - Madurai have been set up with elaborate facilities. Further, they are constantly being upgraded in terms of equipment and other support systems so as to provide infrastructure to carry out Fundamental and Applied research.
Facilities for indoor and outdoor games are available in R L Institute of Animation and Media Studies - Madurai. This institute is a member of Inter colleges Athletic Association and is sending teams for tournaments. There is a N.S.S. unit functioning in this polytechnic. Participation in N.S.S. by the student is optional and all the medically fit students can join in N.S.S.
