Sourashtra College - Madurai was started by the Sourashtra College Council with donations from philanthropists. The College was accommodated from June 1967 to 1972 in a portion of the Sourashtra High School premises. Inspired by a "Strong Benevolence of Soul", the members of the Sourashtra College Council raised the magnificent buildings of Sourashtra College - Madurai on the slope of Pasumalai hill in 1972 and the College has been functioning here since July, 1972. The College is managed by the Sourashtra College Council, Madurai, registered on 24.09.1966. The Managing Committee consists of 9 members including the office bearers, the University Nominee and the Principal.

Good quality food is provided to the students at a reasonable cost. We have a fully automatic Domestic Mineral Water Plant that provides hygienic drinking water for the students.
