Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College - Ramnad is started in 1991. The college is run by Munificent Mohamed Sathak Trust. The Munificent Mohamed Sathak Trust is a charitable body established in the year 1973 by the Philanthropic Chairman Mohamed Sathak Family. The Trust aims at providing Quality Education to all the people irrespective of religion, caste, creed language and region. The main objective of the trust is excellence in imparting Scientific Technological, Medical and Management Education.
With this noble aim Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College - Ramnad Trust first started the Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic in the year 1980 at Kilakarai. Marhum Alhaj Ahamed Jalaludeen, the eldest brother in the family was the Founder. Encouraged and Enthused by the success of this venture another technological institution of Higher Learning Mohamed Sathak Engineering College was started in October 1984. The Engineering College unlike other colleges offers apart from all other branches of study, branches like Marine Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering courses. The students have brought laurels to the institution by securing ranks and international recognition by getting VINCENT BENDIX AWARD of USA. The college is approved by AICTE.

As the maxim says, "Library is a platform for self-development, a gateway to knowledge and a catalyst for the imagination", Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College - Ramnad has a library which includes a rich collection of a variety of documents on various disciplines like Arabic, English, Tamil, Home Science, library, General Knowledge Apart from these, the library has various Encyclopedias, Dictionaries and books on other Interdisciplinary Subjects. It also includes a rich source of books on career guidance and competitive examinations.
Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College - Ramnad provides good hostel facilities for boys and girls separately. A large dining hall on modern lines is attached with the hostel. The hostel mess is run on dividing system. The progress of hostel inmates will be monitored by the staff and communicated to the parents. The hostels are under the direct control of the Principal, who is ex-officer warden. He will be assisted by Deputy Warden for each hostel and the Hostel Superintendent nominated by the Principal. Every student before he / she is admitted to the hostel must give an undertaking in writing that he / she will submit to any discipline imposed on him / her by the authorities. This shall be endorsed by his / her parents / guardian in writing. After admission no student shall leave the hostel during the academic year.
There is a canteen within Syed Hameedha Arts and Science College - Ramnad campus. Refreshments are served in the canteen on all working days. Day Students can have their lunch in the canteen on a nominal rate. The day scholar students can have their Lunch in the spacious tidy hall available on the campus. In the college premises there is a hall allocated for the students for prayer.
