Teresian College – Mysore started in 1963 is a first grade College for Women, affiliated to the University of Mysore , offering Social Sciences, Basic Sciences and Commerce and Management courses. Located in Mysore at 4th k.m. on Malai Mahadeshwara Road(Bannur Road) and sprawling on a 12 acres campus in a lush green backdrop, the College offers a serene atmosphere for study and personality development. Teresian College – Mysore is being managed by St. Teresa’s Education Society, which was founded by Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (C.S.S.T.). C.S.S.T. is a religious congregation dedicated primarily to education. Today the congregation runs 76 schools and 6 colleges all over India and a few countries abroad. The management and the staff of Teresian College – Mysore take a special interest in all round development of each student. Teresian College – Mysore offers excellent facilities to the students. A good library is very necessary to provide quality education. Adequate budget has accordingly been provided for building up the collection of books. The college has a spacious and elegantly furnished library with over 22000 volumes, 75 periodicals and most of the national dailies. Investment on computer hardware and software is becoming absolutely essential for providing quality education. There are two computer laboratories with a total of 40 computers, one for Computer Science students (Lab I) and another for Commerce students (Lab II). Browsing facility is available for staff and students. Most of the administrative and office work of the college is computerized. Investment will also be made to acquire latest software and databases.
Teresian College – Mysore has three well designed and well furnished hostels which can accommodate nearly 500 students. A canteen and a lounge with telephone booth are located in the hostel premises. A warden (normally a trained sister) will be in charge of each hostel where strict discipline is maintained. At an extra cost more comfortable stay is also available. A good and spacious auditorium is a must for developing extra curricular interests of students. It will accomodate all students when the full student strength is achieved. The auditorium is elevated to facilitate clear view of the stage and acoustics will ensure pleasing audience experience.
Teresian College – Mysore has a physical education centre with separate for playing hockey, basketball, volleyball, ball badminton, tennis and also a pavilion with a 200 meter tract with an attached dressing room. In the sports arena the college has dominated for the past 40 years by emerging overall champions 29 times in inter collegiate games and 24 times in athletics. The college has retained championship in athletics continuously over a period of 10 years.
