The authorities of the Shivaji University recommended to the Govt. of Maharashtra to grant approval for the below mentioned courses to be run at Sangli. These courses have been started from the academic year 2002-2003. Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli is runs by Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education and Research Trust. The trust was established in 1976 by Dr. A. D. Shinde, a practicing Chartered Accountant and Professor of Accountancy and Taxation under the table guidance of Late Padmabhooshan Vasantraodada Patil, Ex. Chief Minister, Maharashtra State, with active support of Late Shri. Sripatrao Bondre, Ex. Minister Maharashtra State.

It is a combination of many technologies including computer and communication technologies. Proper IT Training cannot be imparted at any level without up-to-date laboratory, library and qualified faculty. These three requisites are always taken care of by the management of the VPIMSR. Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli Computer Lab, at present 78 P4 computers assigned for training alone. The college has all latest software and has one of the best collections of computer books in the library. The faculties trained at various places in the country, which are academically oriented having up-to-date expertise in all theoretical and practical aspects of Information Technology (IT), are sharing their valuable knowledge with students. Students are also provided with the commercial packages that help them to excel in their field of specialization. Keeping abreast with the changing time, Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli has gone in for the Internet facility too. The computer lab functions from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on all working days.
Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli undertakes a number of extension programs. During this academic year, a number of activities, both curricular and extracurricular were conducted in the college by the students. In co-ordination and guidance teaching and non-teaching staff. The National Flag hoisting ceremony was held in the campus of Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli at 8.00 A.M. on 15th Aug 2004 at the auspicious hands of Senior Faculty and Renowned Chartered Accountant Prof. Shriniwas N. Bhosale. Hon. Principal Dr. Ranajitsinh A. Shinde, faculty members, administrative staff and students were present on this auspicious occasion. A number of cultural activities were organized by Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli. The students of the Institute participated in various cultural activities such as quiz based on freedom fighters, patriotic songs, dances based on patriotic songs and cultural fashion show of national integration.
In Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli campus a blood group check camp was also organized on the eve of Independence Day this year. About 200 students and teachers checked their blood group. The doctors and other members of Bhagirathi Laboratory extended their Co-operation in this regard. To inculcate the civic responsibilities amongst the students a "Tree Plantation Function" was organized by Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli in college campus. About 50 students from different classes and teachers participated in this function. The Magnetic personality Principal Dr. R.A.Shinde delivered an excellent lecture on "Importance of Tree Plantation".
Students of Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli have also achieved remarkable success in the Zonal and Inter-Zonal Sports competition. Teams of our college participated in Football, Basketball, Athletics and Swimming in Zonal Competition. Miss. Harshada. S. Patil of B.C.A. was selected in the University Women's Basketball team. Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Management Studies and Research - VPIMSR Sangli won the zonal swimming competition held at N.D.P. Night College, Sangli. Our college student Pritesh Annaso Patil won in eleven of fifteen events of swimming. He also won Col. Dr. Gundhar D. Patil trophy in swimming competition and he was selected to Inter-Zonal swimming competition.
