Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi author, film director and producer. He was born on 13 November 1948 in Mohongonj, Bangladesh and died on 19 July 2012 at the age of 63 in New York City, United States. Humayun Ahmed also served as the professor of chemistry at the Dhaka University. He was honored with several titles for his publications. Humayun Ahmed has been felicitated with many awards such as Lekhak Shibir Prize (1973), Bacsas Prize (1988), National Film Award (1993,1994), Bangla Academy Award (1981) and Ekushey Padak (1994).
