Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET, Gurdaspur was established by the Govt. of Punjab as an autonomous Institution th rough registered society. The foundation stone was laid on February 28, 1994 and the college was inaugurated on August 20,1995 by the Chief Minister Late Sardar Beant Singh Ji.
Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET, campus including the instructional buildings, amenties, residential and other facilities is spread over 70 acres of Land. In the year 1995 only 3 B.Tech. disciplines i.e. Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Production Engineering were started with a total intake of 120 students. Then in the year 1996, seats were increased and one more discipline of Chemical Engineering were added. Then in the year 1997, one more discipline of Electronics & Communications Engineering was added. Then in the year 2001, one more discipline of Information Technology was added and the total intake became 300. then in the year 2003, Two M.Tech course namely Production Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering under Regional centre of P.T.U. Jalandhar were started. Then in the year 2006, seats were increased and new course of Bio Technology was added and total intake was increased to 370. Then in the year 2007, one M.Tech in Thermal Engineering was added sanctioned by AICTE directly to the college. In 2008, seats of Computer Science and Engg. were increased to 90 and seats of Chemical Engg. were decreased to 30. The Chairman of the Board of Governors is Ch. Swarna Ram, Hon’ble Technical Education Minister, Punjab and Dr. Nirmal Singh is the Principal of the college. Shri Inder Pal Singh, Registrar is the Public Information Officer and Sh. Rajmaninder Singh is Asstt. Public Information Officer of the college.

Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET is imparting instructions in the Engineering disciplines of Bio Technology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology & Mechanical Engineering at under graduate level and Thermal Engineering, Production Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering at Post graduate level.
Computer Centre is providing the central facilities to various departments of the institute and hostels. Computer centre of the college is equipped with 350 computers (latest PIV of HP make and others) and peripherals. There is campus-wide networking with 432 nodes connecting all the departments and hostels. In the
Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET There are Internet connectivity of 4 mbps. Central Workshop is the common facility for all the branches and having most sophisticated machine tools & equipments. Besides important training work, central workshop extends services in the form of repair work to institute & hostels. Facility of making project work and working model is there for B.Tech/M.Tech students. The central Library, Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur was set up in 1995 in the Science Block of the College. Since then this centre of learning has been functioning with the aim of encouraging self learning and supplement academics, boost research and development activities and to promote consultancy activities.
Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET has the floor area of 2800 sq. feet and the seating capacity of 70 readers in the A.C. and Library reading halls. Library follows an open access system. It facilitates the users to browse and pick up the document of their choice without any hindrance. The College has full-fledged Training and Placement Cell equipped with all modern facilities for dovetailing our students’ career aspirations with corporate expectations and to build strong industry interface and enhance industry interactions. A dedicated team of faculty members of various disciplines having good academic and industrial exposure organizes the cell’s activities. The students' team consists of two members from each discipline who are selected voluntarily. The task of team members is to assist the staff in the smooth functioning of T&P activities of any kind. This includes coordinating with companies during their PPTs and recruitment processes. The primary motive of the training and placement cell is to assist in the placement of the final/ pre-final year students in reputed companies spread all over India through campus recruitment programs as well as joint campus/ off-campus recruitment programs. Development of all-round personality to become successful in all sphere of life by proper co-ordination of mind and body.
Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET has four boys Hostels and one Girls Hostel. The four boys hostels with a hostel accommodation for nearly 850 students with a facility of both single seater and 3-seater rooms. Each with a facility for a separate mess and common rooms is well equipped with badminton courts as well. The girls hostel has an accommodation for nearly 200 girls with a facility of 85 rooms both (3-seater and single seater rooms). The premises of the girls’ hostel include a mess, common room and even a sports room with complete provisions of recreation. Also it provides enough of land with a volley ball and badminton.
Beant College of Engineering and Technology-BCET has excellent infrastructure in sports. This includes the gymnasium station and play grounds for almost all the games. This club provides a broader view of art to the students to show their innovation and creativity. Students participate in the various activities organized by the club and show their art.
