Bishop Ambrose College - BAC Coimbatore was started in the year 1997 or the sole purpose of giving quality and affordable education to the leader of tomorrow. The Bishop Ambrose College, Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore is a co-educational institution was formally inaugurated by his Excellency, then Bishop of Coimbatore on 3rd November 1997. Initially it functioned in a separate block at Carmel Garden School campus. After obtaining continuation of provisional affiliation for the academic year 1998-99, the college moved to its own building built in a spacious campus at College Nagar, near Sungam by-pass Road, in January 1999.

A state-of-the-art campus network with a 64 Mbps Leased line Internet connection offer unlimited access of Internet for the students and staff round the clock, for their educational and research needs. The servers include the IBM blade server, IBM X- 365, IBM server X-346 for Novell Open Enterprise server, IBM Netfinity 3000 and 1000 as dedicated mail server and DNS server. In addition we have IBM AS/400e server. The Computer Technology Lab provides e-mail services to the entire Ambrosia community.
