Maharanis Arts and Commerce College for Women - MACCWM Mysore is one of the oldest and renowned institutions in the country. Maharanis Arts and Commerce College for Women - MACCWM Mysore had its humble beginning in the last quarter of 19th century. With the establishment of Maharani's Girls' School with Primary and Middle Sections in 1881, with an enrolment of 28 girls. The School was taken over by the Government from the private management in 1891 which was upgraded into a high school. In 1902, it was made a Second Grade College with the name Maharani's College and was affiliated to the University of Madras.

For conducting extra-curricular activities and the annual cultural programmes, the auditorium, which is in the college premises is made use of effectively for various programmes, the area of the auditorium is around ½ an acre with ample lighting for both stage and audience with audio visual facility.

The hostel inmates can meet their relatives between 5PM-6PM on all week days. The Hostel has a total area of 3.15 acres and is situated very close to the college.
