Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya - Nagpur is an educational institution run by Arya Vidya Sabha, an organization run on the principles of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, an advocate of women’s rights and education. It’s a girl’s college situated in North Nagpur, backward area which is a reserved Constituency. Needless to say, the majority of girls studying here either belong to a minority community (Sindhi) or schedule caste and tribes. Hailing from such a background, the girls are not encouraged towards higher education due to poverty and early marriages.
Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya - Nagpur is dedicated to the upliftment of socially and economically backward girls. The aim of our college is to develop the intellectual, physical, and mental faculties of the students. The management body also tries its level best to help as many girls as possible to attain higher education with their generous help and motivation. Every year the fees of as many as 50 girls are paid by the philanthropists. The college Provides safe & healthy environment to the girls in which they can undertake any curricular or co-curricular activities whole heartedly for all round development.
The prime motive of Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya - Nagpur is to impart value and cultures based education to the girls of the backward area of North Nagpur and make them morally and economically strong as envisaged by our beloved Saint Swami Dayanand Saraswati who stressed on women’s education and emancipation. We hold regular prayer, hawan, assembly, discussion on spiritual and moral topics spiritual discusses by sages and experts.
All these activities are followed meticulously according to planned Time Table. Regular Yoga training is also imparted in the pre first period, all these activities are planned and reflected in the annual calendar as well as the prospectus of the college which go hand in hand with academic and co – curricular activities.
Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya - Nagpur, is named after the great Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, who was a champion of the cause of women, their education, and the upliftment of the downtrodden people of society. In accordance with the cherished ideals of the great saint, the college provides all round education of girls. All these environments are to be aligned for creating a Low-Cost and high quality education. In our institution all such steps towards promotion and co-ordination of enhancing and maintaining standards of teaching-learning, evaluation and extension activities, led us to foresee new avenues and potentials for all round development.College provides Bachelor Degree and Master Degree program to the college students.
