Farook College - Kozhikode stands unique among the educational institutions of Kerala. In addition to being the largest residential post-graduate institution affiliated to the University of Calicut, it enjoys the distinction of being the most advanced co-educational Muslim minority institution in South India, offering instruction at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as guidance in research in specialized fields. Farook College - Kozhikode established as a first grade college in 1948, the stages of its growth and expansion run parallel to the gradual emergence of the Muslim community of Malabar from the morass of orthodoxy and superstition to the heights of enlightenment and social prestige. The story of the college is the story of the community; a story full of struggles and sacrifices, determination and unflagging enthusiasm, a story of co-operative Endeavour and multifaceted achievement.

Farook College - Kozhikode is located at P.O Farook College, Kozhikode, Kerala. All the departments, labs, office, library and offices of other organizations and forums in Farook College - Kozhikode campus are interconnected through a Gigabite Fibre Optic backbone. The connectivity to Desktops is using 4 pair CAT 6 UTP and ECAT 5 UTP cable ensuring a dedicated 100 Mbps bandwidth at desktop level. The Informatics centre acts as the main hub of the network and hosts a layer 3 backbone switch. The workgroup switches are located in the concerned buildings. Campus network supports data transferring using various network technologies. With the advances in networking, we are also planning to implement Wireless networking, bringing power and speed closer to the people who use them.
Farook College - Kozhikode offers one of the best libraries in the state of Kerala. It has a valuable collection books, periodicals, CDs and other audio visual aids. Our college follows a centralised library system. Books, which are required for immediate references, are only available in the department collection. Farook College - Kozhikode library building is functional and modular in construction. It has an area of 27,000 sq. ft. in two floors - Ground floor and Upper Ground floor. The Ground floor houses circulation section, reprographic (photocopying section), newspaper reading section, Librarians office, Internet Browsing Corner, technical section, general reading area, periodicals section, catalogue section, career corner, UG stack area, UG reference section, manuscript section, Insight (a corner for visually challenged) book bank section, audio-visual theatre and digital library.
Computing facilities at Farook College - Kozhikode includes powerful computers for providing support for diverse computing requirements, access to bibliographic databases and archives for rapid retrieval of relevant information and for updating and dissemination of academic and research material. The IT setup at Farook College comprises of a multi-layered architecture, the lowest layer of which is made up of personal computers and workstations. The next layer consists of File servers and Database servers. All the buildings including hostels in the campus are part of the campus LAN and all the services available on the LAN can be accessed from any node.
Farook College - Kozhikode has a Health Centre. The Health Centre functions on all days except Sundays and national holidays. The service of the Medical Officer will be available from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Medical consultation is free to all students of the campus and medicines are available at a moderate rate. The Health Centre organises free medical camps and health awareness classes to the students and local public. A cafeteria is maintained for providing light refreshment to the students and staff of the college. The cafeteria is supported by the Dubai Unit of FOSA.
Farook College - Kozhikode provides NSS and NCC facility. The aim of the N.S.S is to promote among students the spirit service to fellowmen. Social service, adult education, free medical aid to the poor and rural uplift is some of the important programmes under the scheme. The college has three units of NSS with a membership of 300 students. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has three wings. NCC (Army), NCC (Navy) and NCC (Girls) with strengths of 106, 50 and 54 (29 Army, 25 Navy) cadets respectively.
