Kristu Jayanti College – Bangalore founded in 1999, is run by "BODHI NIKETAN TRUST", formed by the members of St. Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous religious congregation in India. This congrigation is the embodiment of the dream and vision of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara who was a nineteenth century educationist and social reformer in India.
The services of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara have been acknowledged and lauded with gratitude by the Government of India and to honour him, the Government released a postal stamp with his portrait in 1986. The CMI congregation with a membership of 2300, renders its services to the humanity in educational, social, healthcare and other activities aiming the prosperity and well-being of the society. The department of Biosciences has continually been striving for excellence in teaching and research. It imparts integrated teaching in major areas of Life sciences like Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The department boasts state-of-the-art laborates that provide an arena for students to study the modern surroundings and to have hands on practical knowledge in thrust areas of life science. Kristu Jayanti College – Bangalore biotechnology laboratory with a seating capacity of 30 features the Eppendorf Master Cycler (PCR-machine) accessories, UV transilluminator, the vertical and horizontal Electrophoresis units, blotting units and other equipments in biotechnology and molecular biology. The Gerberg's centrifuge, colony counter, laminar air flow chamber etc, make the environment conducive for experiments at the microbiology laboratory. The UV-Vis spectrophotometer, colorimeter and the overall lap setup is a peculiar feature of the biochemistry laboratory. The genetics lab is all set and well established campart a range of experiments from classical to modern molecular genetics.

Many students are recipient winner of National Level Games. Miss.Deepthi (IV sem BBM) represented Sate Level Throw Ball Tournament at National Level Tournaments. Many students were selected for different Games at State Level.
