Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women – Vellore is administered by Sri Marudhar Kesari Jain Trust. This Institution originated during the year 1994 with the aim to empower womenfolk. . The NAAC awarded the college with B++ in October 2006 and also the college is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.
Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women – Vellore is named after Marudhar Kesari, who was a great poet, powerful orator and a champion of social service and public welfare. He propagated not only the ideals of Jainism but also expounded the cause of education. This college is a living monument to Sri Marudhar Kesari's great ideals and dreams. The college was started with just four courses- B.Sc(Mathematics), B.Sc (Computer Science), B.Com and B.A. (Corporate Secretaryship). In a short span of 16 years the college has grown substantially . Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women – Vellore now offers eighteen courses including six P.G.courses and twelve U.G courses.
The library plays a central role in helping college achieve its mission of providing students a quality education. Beyond its immediate responsibility to provide the information services and resources that support the courses of study offered at the college, the library has the broader mission of fostering in our students the importance and necessity of lifelong learning. An active NSS unit is functioning in Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women – Vellore under the guidance of Thiruvalluvar University NSS wing. The NSS conducts special camps at rural area, conducts awareness campaigns on several issues of national relevance, like AIDS, environment protection, anti smoking, anti drinking, rain harvesting etc. The sports complex contains a gymnasium and fitness suite. the facilities are used for a variety of events including aerobics, badminton, basketball, volleyball, hockey, table tennis and cricket.
