Institute was established in 1988 at Ranchi, to meet the growing demand of Pharmacists at various Health Centers, Hospitals, Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Stores.
The Ranchi College of Pharmacy is located in the South of Ranchi City (Capital of Jharkhand State) about one kilometer from Hatia Railway Station and Railway Divisional Head Quarter and at a similar distance from Ranchi Air-port, in peaceful and pleasant surroundings. Ranchi is situated at an altitude of 640 meters has a cool and healthy climate having headquarters of a number of major Public Sector Undertakings such as C.C.L., H.E.C., C.M.P.D.I., MECON etc., all having their well equipped spacious hospital. In addition to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) the largest medical complex in the area, a number of other hospitals, nursing homes, pathological laboratories and Medical Stores are also located at Ranchi. It is connected by a large network of inter-state Roadways & Railways from other towns and cities and also by Airways. Location of this Institute at Ranchi is a modest Endeavour in this direction. It also provides job opportunities to other people in search of oriented education.
Separate hostel facilities adjacent to the Ranchi College of Pharmacy campus are available for boys and girls at moderate charges Day-Scholars are permitted to stay with their local guardians. Indoor games and cultural activities are organized in all the hostels of the College. Sports equipments are provided by the College.
