Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa has been named after Captain Awadhesh Pratap Singh, a distinguished son of the soil and a freedom fighter. Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa came into being on the 20th July 1968 and got UGC recognition in February 1972. Today, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University enjoys membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and All Commonwealth Association of Universities (ACAU).
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with its jurisdiction over 65 colleges situated in the districts of Rewa, Sidhi, Shahdol, Umariya and Satna, besides 21 Sanskrit Colleges and 85 Sanskrit Schools spread all overMadhya Pradesh.
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa is located on a 246.20 acres plot of land in the north of Rewa City, at a distance of about 5 kms, with its campus lying on either side of Rewa-Sirmour Road. Besides the over-looking administrative block, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa complex comprises of the departments of Environmental Biology, Physics, Science Block, Humanities Block (including its extension), Ambedkar Bhawan, Tribal Centre, Computer Centre, Vikram Space Physics Centre, USIC, Central Library, Arjun Chhatra Griha, Guest House, Yoga Hall Hostels for boys and girls, Auditorium, Stadium, and Staff Quarters. The construction of MBA department and the upper floor of Central Library building and Antarbharti are nearing completion. Besides, there are branches of Allahabad Bank, Employment Bureau and Indian Post Office as well as Medical dispensary within the campus. Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa also has a small meteorological observatory and plans are for a seismological observatory.
Situated on the foot of Vindhya's, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa Campus is cozy and environmentally friendly, far from the hustle and bustle of the city life. The Campus presents a scene of Ashrams of ancient times. Still the residents get all the facilities and amenities of modern life, such as, canteen, facilities for Xerox, STD and a small shopping center. The campus also has a large Gymnasium hall, Yoga hall and a big stadium as well as a Lord Shiva temple situated in between a modest park (greenery).
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa has Boys and Girls hostel in the campus. Students of M.B.A who desire hostel accommodation shall apply to the Warden of each hostel in the prescribed form. Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed as the number of seats in each hostel is limited.
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa is having Dean Student Welfare to ensure the galvanisation of students active participation to the co-curricular life of the institution. The University is having its own primary health centre to respond with first-aid to any emergencies and causualities in the campus.
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University – APSU Rewa has already installed nine PC/AT Pentium/486/386/286 computer in Management Laboratory and is in the process of further strengthening the same for providing better computer facilities. The students are encouraged to acquire operational working knowledge of computer and its application in managerial decision making. Apart from this the students also have the access of the Computer Centre to further strengthen and deepen their knowledge.
