Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar was established in August 1958 with the intake capacity of 60 each in conventional programmes like Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. Later on institute has started new Diploma Programme in Electronics & Communication in 1985 with 60 intakes and Diploma in Computer Engineering. in 1986 with 60 intake. Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar has also started two programmes under Self Finance pattern; in the year 2001, it has started Diploma in Information Technology with 60 intake and in 2003, Diploma in Electronics & Communication with 60 intake. Thus to-day institute has total 685 intake capacity including 180 in Distance Learning Mode in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical – 60 in each.
Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar is managed by Charutar Vidya Mandal, Vallabh Vidyanagar. CVM is one of the largest education trust in Gujarat State, which manages 40 institutions from Junior KG to higher education including three engineering colleges. The trust was established in 1946 along with the birth of Vallabh Vidyanagar. Great personalities like Bhaikaka (a renowned Engineer, Dr. H.M.Patel [Former Home and Finance Minister, Govt. of India] served as Chairman of CVM for long time. Dr. C.L.Patel is a present Chairman of CVM. He is in chair since 1994. He is visionary, very effective, dynamic as well as devoted leader. Under his tenure as Chairman, he has not only maintained the existing institutes very well but started number of new courses in Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar and in addition established number of new institutions in Vallabh Vidyanagar as well as New Vallabh Vidyanagar. In fact New Vallabh Vidyanagar is a brain child of Dr. C.L.Patel. Seven new institutes have been already established in New Vallabh Vidyanagar including one engineering college [ADIT] and new Pharmacy (IPCOWALA) and Ayurvedic colleges.

For the students of Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar the Charutar Vidya Mandal has provided Hostel named ‘NEW HOSTEL BLOCK C’ for boys and B.B.I.T GIRLS HOSTEL for girls. Hostel is compulsory for the students who come beyond 25 K.M. from Vallabh Vidyanagar. Prof. A.A. Parmar, Lecturer in Electrical Engineering Dept is a Rector for boys hostel and Prof. I.N. Patel is a rector for girls hostel. The institute has its Canteen in College campus. It is running on contract basis. Students and staff are given Tea and light refreshment from the canteen with reasonable rate and good quality.
Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar has also established Continuing Education Cell under Canada India Institute Industry Linkage Project (CIIILP). Under this cell full time and part time continuing education programme based on Computer, personality development, Office Automation and general skill. The continuing cell have been proved as a Centre of Excellence in the field of Auto Cad, CAD/CAM, Mechanical Desktop, Architecture Desktop , 3D studio, CAD in Electrical Engineering Office Automation. Prof. I.N. Patel, Lecturer in Applied Mechanics is looking after this cell as a continuing education Manager.
Every year Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar forms a Central Committee which consists of students representatives from various class are appointed by Principal. General Secretary and other Secretary are also appointed on the basis of merit, their skills in different areas like sports, debate, culture, events etc. Principal is a President of the Central Committee and H.O.D/Senior Faculty are appointed as Vice President/Joint Vice President. Bhailalbhai and Bhikhabhai Institute of Technology - BBIT Vallabh Vidyanagar provides Diploma program to the students.

Through this cell Campus interviews of various industries/companies are arranged for final year/pass out students. Every year our most the pass out students joins either Diploma to Degree course Or gets Job in the Industry/organization through campus interview. Students are also sent in various industry/organization for inplant training for one complete semester and short term training during vacation period. This is a regular feature of the institution and is well looked after Training & Placement Officer.
