Library facility of Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri has a well stocked Central Library and 8 Departmental Libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and various academic programmes of the institute. The Library has approximately 25000 volumes of books related to all the branches of Science & Engineering. Books are classified according to Dewey decimal classification scheme and are catalogued according to Anglo American Cataloguing rules II, with local variation using L1BSYS software. A Large number of National and International journals and magazines in Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri are subscribed. Special volumes like Handbooks, Standard books, Manuals, Encyclopedias, Technical Reports, Project Reports, Non-print materials in form of CDs/DVDs and Conference Proceedings are also available to the students and staffs. Computer facility of Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri has well equipped Air-Conditioned computer labs nearly 775 system with latest configurations that includes IBM, Hp, and Pentium. These systems are accommodated in 10 spacious computer centers, which are set up with a state of the art, interior comfort and higher configurations. Our labs are highly networked and are controlled by a College server, which extends its service throughout all the labs. Moreover each lab is endorsed with individual servers.
Internet Lab of Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri is considered to be the lifeline of Information Technology. The Internet lab offers high-speed Internet access to all students of this institution through leased line. All sections of students and staff make use of this facility to access exhaustive information available in the Internet.
Hostel facility of Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri is endorsed with a salubrious hostel both separately for men and women. The hostels are more spacious and have the capacity to accommodate 450 students in each hostel. The eye catching point in our hostel is that an environment is created that may menace the students a homely feeling with hygienic food and mother care. The hostel is located in the sylvan mountainous surrounding region that gives nourishment to the college hostel.
Placement Cell of Siliguri Institute of Technology – SIT Siliguri is to produce efficient, equipped and readily deployable students for industry as per demand. To enable students to achieve best industry placement, the value added activities like Finishing School Programme (FSP) has been adopted which covers soft skills training and regular workshop, HR and personality development programme, language laboratory activities etc. SIT’s T&P programme is well conducted through centrally managed Central Placement Cell (CPC) of Techno India Group (TIG). CPC is in touch with industry in regular manner and feed back to local T&P cell, and at the same time for local employment, local T&P cell is constantly maintaining a good industrial rapport to boost up local placement performance for students.
