Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT was set up in 1998 under the aegis of Gian Jyoti Educational Society, which was established in the year 1974 by renowned educationists and professionals of this region to set up educational institutes of national repute. Because of the tireless efforts of the management, Gian Jyoti has emerged as a leading education provider of North-western region of India.
In eleven years since its inception, Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT has become a name to reckon with in the North Western region of India. The college has been ranked 35th among the top 50 management institutes in India and as the Best in Punjab in Competition Success Review in its Dec 2007 Issue.
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT is located in Phase–2, Mohali in a five acre campus near Bassi Theatre. While coming from Chandigarh Bus Stand from the Sector 41-42, dividing road and passing nearby Beant Singh Memorial, after crossing the furniture market turn right from the first traffic lights and after crossing the Bassi Theatre you would reach GJ-IMT Campus which is located on the left hand side at a distance of about 100 meter from Bassi Theater.
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT has created a world class Infrastructure across three acres of Wi-Fi enabled campus with built up area 60,000 sq. fts. to provide state-of-the-art education to its students. The college offers 17 Air-conditioned classrooms with computers, audio-visual instruments, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, white Boards etc.
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT has well equipped auditorium with a sitting capacity of 200, which is actively used for developmental and cultural activities. Two well furnished syndicate rooms with a seating capacity of more than 50 are an ideal platform to organize intellectual activities of varied nature.
All the members of the staff are provided with independent cabins, computing and internet facility in their Staff Rooms to perform their respective duties in an effective manner.
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT boasts of well equipped hardware lab comprising of state-of-the-art microprocessor kits (8085 and 8086). An appreciable number of Digital Trainer kits are also provided which enable the students to get hands-on knowledge of the concerned subject.
Libraries are not merely the store house of knowledge, but are also the foundation on which students and faculty build up the professional careers and develop the virtues of life. Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT has spacious air conditioned well furnished Library for post graduate programmes stocked with 8810 titles, 12046 volumes, 40 subscribed national journals, 62 subscribed international journals and 98 journals on exchanged base, 38 magazines, and 10 national and financial newspapers. 100 students can sit in serene learning environment for individual & group study at a time. Library remains open beyond the normal working hours of the institute for the students to utilize the library facility for the reference and study purposes.
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology-GJIMT well equipped gymnasium & sports centre ensures that the students are able to develop a wholesome personality. Facilities for games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Carroms, Chess, etc are provided by the institute for the students. Intra-college matches for different games are organized & college teams are sent to compete at Inter University competition.
The college offers Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application courses and is an approved centre for Ph.D. programme.
