Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar was established in the year 1961 during the Prime-minister ship of Late Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammed as an Autonomous Educational Institute with a view to offer higher education at both Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels in various disciplines of Science and Management studies . Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar during its history of over 48 years has emerged as the most prestigious College of the State a centre of quality education with highly qualified and experienced faculty and state of art, infrastructure and supportive facilities. In fact, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (NAAC) has acknowledged the quality excellence of this College by accrediting it at B++ level in its Certificate issued on November 4,2004; the Institutional score being 84.00 under the scale 80 85. By earning this incredible status, we have been encouraged to set our goals higher and reach even greater heights of excellence.

Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar is located at Srinagar, Kashmir. The Central library of Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar is one of the richest libraries of the State. It is located in a two-storied State of art building, constructed on a plinth area of 6132 sqft. this has got the capacity to accommodate at least 100,000 books and other manuscripts. It is a big and spacious building which is designed as per the latest design and layout of a well-equipped library that could qualify to be modem and scientific in all respects.
Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar hostel has a capacity of accommodating 80 Students. It is Equipped with all necessary facilities for the .hostelries. It is imperative for the hostelries to maintain peace and decorum of the Hostel. Any Student involved in ragging or any other illegal practice both inside and outside the Hostel will be accountable before College Disciplinary Committee. The College authority will not be responsible for the loss of any personal valuables. The Students will not be allowed to stay away from the hostel beyond 7 p.m.
Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar has a separate two storied Canteen building where tea, snacks, cold drinks, ice cream, bread, pagodas etc are available for the Students and faculty at comparatively at lesser rates. The Canteen runs on contractual basis and is allotted to some private agency annually. Separate seating and refreshment arrangements inside the Canteen are available for the staff and the students throughout the year.
Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar has a beautiful botanical garden, which has rich and rare varieties of plants and herbs. There are separate well-developed areas for growing different varieties of roses, shade- loving plants, medicinal plants and herbs that provide material for class work and research activities. The garden has a lily pond for growing aquatic flora, and a rock garden for growing xerophytes, ornamental plants, ferns, creepers etc. The garden has a glass house for potted plants and also a separate nursery area. The specialty of .the botanical garden is a Herbarium section nowhere seen in any undergraduate College of the State. In collaboration with Regional Research Laboratory Srinagar, some medicinal plants of the State have been planted in the garden. All specimens in the Botanical Garden have been identified and permanent labels are placed on them.
Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar has a highly developed Physical Education Department which provides the necessary space and equipment for both indoor and outdoor Sports. Being a reputed Institution, the Coaches of great repute of various games are associated with the College. Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar has a tie-up with external agencies to enable Students to avail their facilities in Sports like Cricket, Swimming, Football, Hockey, Track and field, Table tennis, Snooker and badminton. Having sufficient space for both indoor and outdoor games, the College has a big Gym which provides facilities for body building, Power and Weight lifting.
The National Service Scheme sponsored by the Govt. of India functions in Islamia College of Science and Commerce - ICSC Srinagar with a view to provide education through community service. The NSS wing ensures the participation of Students in various extension activities and social welfare programmes. The NSS officer also works as professor-in-charge extension activities. Any Student, desirous, can join either Army or Naval Wing of the NCC. The Cadets are deputed to various camps for various Courses in and outside the State from time to time. They have to attend the parades in the morning on the College campus as per the notifications issued by the concerned officer/ Commandant.
