Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET, Guna was established in the year 2003 based on the MOU signed between Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan and the Government of Madhya Pradesh with an aim of becoming a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology. Based on our request to enable the Institute to become a State University, the Government of MP has vide gazette extra ordinary no. 3 of 2010 dated 29th Arpril 2010 has established JUET, Raghogarh, Guna as a private university in the State of MP under the provisions of MP Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2007.
This is one of the three institutions of higher learning in the field of Degree level Engineering education established under the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan-JSS, an educational initiative which recognizes the role of IT and emerging technologies in improving the quality of life of the people of India. Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET location at Raghogarh, in Guna district, is a well thought out process. This region, currently in a rural setting with strong agricultural activities is likely to grow as a major industrial hub. JUET is being developed as a major center to provide competent, well trained technical manpower to the region.
The Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET campus on the national highway linking Agra to Mumbai sprawls over 100 acre as a modern institution of higher learning in the field of engineering and technology education. The foundation stone of this institution was laid on 15th March 2002 by the then chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Digvijay Singh. The complex is being built on a well thought out "Seven Phase" plan to make it a self sufficient, vibrant modern center of excellence with the mission of providing an excellent quality of undergraduate and postgraduate education, with a strong emphasis on research and innovation and close interaction with the industry. It aims to produce professionals who can be leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and management.
Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET has the modern campus, well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories and library, which provides a pleasant and intellectually stimulating ambience for students in eco-friendly environment. Special emphasis has been laid on developing an environment highly conducive for - Building of a solid foundation of knowledge, Confidence building, Pursuit of excellence and self discipline, Personality development, Inculcation of creativity through motivation and drive, which helps to produce innovative professionals well equipped for the rigors of emerging challenges of professional and social life.
The University aims to offer the complete educational spectrum of programs in emerging technologies at the degree levels. Research in emerging areas of technology is a major thrust and is leveraged for all academic pursuits.
Learning Resource Center of Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET is a major activity centre providing facilities to the students and staff for almost 15 hours a day. The library is fully classified and catalogued and users can search for information at their own. The institute uses Library management software, Alice for Windows. Learning Resource Center-LRC users know the availability status of the books and other materials through the software OPAC-Online Public Access Catalogue.
The library is linked with DELNET-Developing Library Network, the users of LRC enjoy the access of reading materials through this network also. The library subscribes to journals of national and international repute. Photocopying facilities are also available within the library for user convenience.
Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Presently, there are 20 blocks of boy's hostels having capacity to accommodate 1370 students. The girls hostel is having capacity to accommodate around 298 inmates with its own messing facility.
The rooms are equipped with beds, mattresses, study tables, almirah, ward robes, lights, fans and Internet connectivity and centralized air cooling facility. Through each room is multi seated (two or three students), all facilities are provided on individual basis. Rooms are airy and spacious with good natural light. Each room has balcony or a verandah. Hostels are complete with common room facilities, indoor games facilities, T.V. room and news/reading room. Three modern gymnasiums are provided in Hostels.
Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET campus has been designed for total connectivity of all its systems. All the blocks of JUET premises including hostel and accommodation, are connected via LAN through the latest IBM and Compaq Servers. There are 20 no. of servers having specification G3, G4, G5 and G6 Series XEON and Nehalem Servers, Intel P-IV Series. The major servers are Database Server (Oracle/SQL), Mail Server (Lotus Domino), Web Server, Proxy Server, S/W License Servers, Domain Controllers(2), Unix/Linux Servers, Storage Server with 1TB Capacity, Antivirus Server, ERP Server etc.
Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET has a BSNL's lease line for Internet connectivity. Students, faculty and staff have access to the internet round the clock to keep in touch with the latest technological development and can also download study material and other relevant information using internet.
Presently the Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology- JUET offers 4 year B.Tech Programmes, M.Tech. Programmes and Doctoral Programmes in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The Doctoral Programmes are also available in Mathematics and Physics streams. Six Semester Diploma program in Building Materials and Cement Technology with strong practical gain is also offered.
The Training and Placement Cell of the Institute centrally handles campus placement of the graduating students of all our campuses, namely Jaypee Institute of Information Technology Noida, Jaypee University of Information Technology WaknaghatJaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology-JUET Guna and JAYPEE Business School. The Cell provides complete support to the visiting companies at every stage of placement process. Arrangements for Pre-Placement Talks, Written Tests, Interviews and Group Discussions are made as per the requirement of the visiting companies
