Nirma Education and Research Foundation initiated a discussion amongst a group of leading industrialist, successful professionals and renowned academicians from the technical education by calling a series of meetings. On the recommendations of these experts, it was decided to start Nirma Institute of Diploma Studies - Ahmedabad. The dream came true on 14th September in 1997. This is the first self – financed diploma institute in the State of Gujarat and has an approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (New Delhi) and recognized by Government of Gujarat. It is now a constituent of Nirma University.
