PKN Arts and Science College – Tirumangalam established in the year 1996 was conceived by the P.K.N . Vidhyasala Sangam Committee, a philanthropic educational agency in Tirumangalam under the Presidentship of Mr.R. Vijayarajan Nadar, Mr. A. Avanamuthu Nadar as secretary and Mr.S. Mohandass Nadar as Treasurer. A College Committee was constituted with Mr. M.V.M.S.Rajamanicam Nadar as Correspondent, Mr. M.A.K.Kathirvel Nadar M.A., as president and Mr. K.P.M.N.Dhanraj Nadar as Treasurer. The other members of the committee were Mr. K.P.M.M.Kasimani Nadar, Mr. C.Rathnam Nadar, Mr. R.Vijayarajan Nadar & Mr. B.Rajendran Nadar.
PKN Arts and Science College – Tirumangalam is situated at P.Box. No 28, P.K.N.Nagar, Vidathakulam Road, Tirumangalam. PKN Arts and Science College – Tirumangalam started functioning on the 16th September 1996 with four courses namely B.B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., Maths B.Sc., Bio-Chemistry. There were 33 students both boys and girls and 15 faculty members. It was housed in the science Block of P.K.N Boys Higher Secondary School.
The library plays a central role in helping college achieve its mission of providing students a quality education. Beyond its immediate responsibility to provide the information services and resources that support the courses of study offered at the college, the library has the broader mission of fostering in our students the importance and necessity of lifelong learning. PKN Arts and Science College – Tirumangalam library adequately equipped with 9679 books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. The college also subscribes for international and national journals, periodicals and newspapers for the students and faculty members at the college library.
Physics Lab Modernized with latest equipments, advanced Electronic Materials. The UG Departments of Computer Science, Information Technologies, BCA laboratory facilities with 112 nodes. To create awareness among the students of UG and PG Courses on the avenues open to them to get employment, a separate cell Christened as placement cell is functioning in PKN Arts and Science College – Tirumangalam . The Objectives of the cell are to provide available information on the jobs, positions and opportunities to the students, provide necessary literature and brochures, conduct seminars and workshops on employment opportunities, and to organise awareness compaign in the college campus.
