For, knowledge is the light which not only illumines the body and soul of the man but also the entire society and nation at large. Inspired by the above ideal some farsighted persons of the district of Sri Ganganagar took upon themselves to spread the light of knowledge in this region. It is a result of their sincere efforts that the sapling plannted in 1939 as Guru Nanak Khalsa School gradually grew into S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar in 1957. In its history of 47 years from 1957 to 2004 the college, making a continuous headway, achieved distinctions in education, games and sports and also in various other spheres enabling it to be reckoned among a few important colleges of Rajasthan. S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar is situated at Near Teen Puli, Hindumalkot Road, Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan).
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar is a multifaculty institution comprising Science, Arts, Commerce and Law faculties. There is the provision of imparting Post Graduate education in various Science subjects viz. Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. Besides, there is the facility of Research supervised by a very distinguished panel of teachers of the subject supported by a rich library and highly equipped laboratory. It is indeed a matter of pride to the institution that umpteen numbers of students have so far achieved their PhD degree in various subjects of whom about thirty students belong to the department of Botany alone followed closely by Mathematics, Zoology and Chemistry. Keeping in view the maxim of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, "Truth is great but to follow the truth is even greater" the institution has made qualitative progress for all the years of its existence. As a result of the commitment of the teacher and the merit of the students S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagarr has produced excellent results in all the degree and post graduate examinations of the University bringing lavrels to it.
Besides education, S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has played an important role in the fields of games and sports. There are well developed fields for Athletics, Kabaddi, Hockey, Fotball, Handball etc. supplemented by beautiful Tennis and Volley Ball courts on the college campus. There are also indoor facilities for Table Tennis and Badminton. The work of the construction of Gymnasium building supported by the Government is in progress/has been recently completed. In fact S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar performed very well in all the departments of games and sports but in the field of Athletics it has set such records as cannot be broken easily. Barring the times as an exception from 1959 to 2003 we successively won and retained the university Championship and produced National players to keep the flag of Rajasthan flying high.
In August 1979 a separate department of Divinity was established to impart religious and moral education to the students. Under the auspices of this department various religious celebrations have been organized not only at

In S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar cultural and literacy committees are set up for the overall development of the personality of the students. In the funtions organised by the institution from time to time various artists and scholars participate and benefit the students by their skill and scholorship. The college is a co-educational institution where special emphasis is laid upon secular and disciplined environment. S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagaris a co-education institution and is situated on the outskirts of the city in a peaceful location & is providing service to both urban and rural students. Moral education is imparted in the college as per preachings of the Sikh Gurus with the help of a teacher of divinity.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has qualified teaching faculty strength of 64 members including 28 Permanent lecturers and 36 Temporary lecturers. There are 4 administrative, 6 technical and 21 permanent class fourth employees along with more than fifteen non-teaching temporary staff members. S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has a vast campus which houses its infrastructure facilities in the form of two-storied New Buildings containing main block, administrative block, central administrative office cum guest room, 14 well-equipped laboratories, 02 research labs, central library, P.G. departments, sports facilities with a well maintained sports ground & athletics track.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar central library has more than ninety thousand books and more than thirty Journals and periodicals. Limited Book bank facility is also made available in the central library. It consists of one large stack room having books for Under Graduate students, one stack cum study room having reference books for under-graduate and post-graduate students. A separate reading room for newspapers and magazines is there. The computerization of the college library is in the process. Library needs a regular stocktaking. Post-graduate students have open-shelf facility in the central library.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has computer labs with 30 computers, various original software and other accessories. Internet facility is provided at the computer labs to give the “faculty and research students” easy access for Internet browsing. The com-puters are maintained through annual maintenance contract with private service centers. The science departments also have computer facilities separately. The college has also established Networking Resource Center through UGC grant. The college office is computerized and connected with the central library.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has adequate sports equipment, two Basket Ball courts, 400 meters six-lane standard Track, well-maintained grounds for Hockey, Football Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Indoor Court for Badminton and Table tennis. In the last academic session the sports activities were under the supervision of two DPE’s.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagar has Army Wing of NCC. These NCC cadets also help in maintaining discipline in the college under the able guidance of the NCC officer of Captain rank having Bronze medal in Pre-commissioned training. It is worth mentioning that the NCC officer in his career also got first position in two refresher courses attended for attaining next rank. Seventeen students have got “B” certificate and nine students have got “C” certificate.
S G N Khalsa PG College - Sri Ganganagarhas two NSS units which function under the able and dynamic guidance of two programme officers. The NSS units organize year long activities as per the calendar of activities provided by the Govt. such as Blood donation camps, Medical check up camps, Adult education, Community development and awareness programmes on Aids and Environment. There is scope for further utilization of student potential for extension activities and out reach programmes especially in the field of women empow¬erment. The college may consider to go for Red Cross Unit as well.
