Smt R M Prajapati Arts College - Mehsana was established on June 29, 1996. The college has become educational hub in Gadhavada area. The subjects offered here are English, Sanskrit, Gujarati, Hindi and Sociology as main subjects; as well as Sanskrit, Gujarati, Hindi and Sociology as subsidiary subjects. Besides Arts College , the trust manages ‘Kamalaba Technical Institute’, ‘Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University Study Centre’, ‘A Computer Training Centre’ and ‘A Language Laboratory’. The college has obtained excellent results in university examinations. The college takes active participation in co-extracurricular activities and has retained topmost performances in cultural activities held at university level.
Smt R M Prajapati Arts College - Mehsana is located at Satlasana in Mehsana district of Gujarat State. Satlasana is a taluka place on Gandhinagar- Ambaji highway, 8 km away from Dharoi Dam on the Sabarmati river as well as 6 km away from the historical monuments of ‘Taranga hill’. The whole area is surrounded by beautiful Aravalli range which is known as the ‘Gadhavada’. It seems that the God laugh through the natural beauty of this area but similar blessing this area is not having in relation to literacy. As the majority people of this area are connected with agricultural activities as well as they belong to SEBC, SC and ST categories,the whole area is declared the backward zone by the authority of the district. The well-wishers of this area realized that the poor literacy rate was the major cause of many problems of the area. So, for providing education to the people of this area, one trust was established in 1958 with the name ‘Gadhvada Vibhag Kelavani Mandal’.
Library is a breathing heart of the college. Books, Magazines, periodicals, News Papers etc. are arranged property for the convenience of the students. Activities like consumer education, discussion group, and books exhibition, binding the magazines and taking care of them etc. are done regularly here. About 45 magazines are brought regularly in the library. Separate reading arrangements are available for the students as well as the professors in the library.
Smt R M Prajapati Arts College - Mehsana is also having computer laboratory facility for students with more than 25 computer systems connected with LAN system and with other necessary hardware and furniture like white board, dot matrix printer, scanner, air conditioners, 5 kVA power conditioner, laser printer etc. All these computers are connected with full speed Internet. Students can surf the net and collect latest information through it.
With the purpose of having good command over English language, Education Department of the Government of Gujarat has established well equipped English language laboratories in selected colleges. Courses like foundation course, Certificate Course and Diploma Course etc. are organized in this lab under the guidance of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad.
With the collaboration of Smt. H.A. Shah General Hospital , Smt R M Prajapati Arts College - Mehsana has provided Health Card to all the student of the college. The students can use the health card at the time of medical emergency. Under this activity, all the students having health card are given free medical check up facility as well as low cost treatment in Smt. H. A. Shah General Hospital , Satlasana. Smt R M Prajapati Arts College - Mehsana has newly constructed advanced building with latest furniture and all kind of facilities. Some special facilities like Canteen, Parking, Water Room, ladies room etc. are also available for the students. Specious Class Rooms, Garden, Large Play Ground and other useful facilities are available for overall development of the students.
