The year was 1993 when T John College - Bangalore with its premises in Campbell Road, Austin Town, Bangalore 47 began. The college founded by Mr. T. John who is Ex-Minister of State for Infrastructure Development and Aviation, Government of Karnataka. The college offers different kind of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Since a humble beginning in 1993, there has been no looking back. And every year T John College - Bangalore crosses new milestones. A decade later the college premises has expanded to include new departments and blocks and spread over an area of 25 acres. Cosmopolitan and secular in ethos and philosophy, T. John College attracts students from all over India and the neighboring countries, especially Sri Lanka.
T John College - Bangalore is situated at No. 88/1, Gottegere, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, Karnataka. The college is governed by a governing Board, the Chairman being Dr. Thomas P.John, the son of the founder Mr. T. John. The other members of this governing Board are high-profile industrialists, financiers, entrepreneurs and renowned academicians. At the helm of affairs is the Campus Director Wg. Cdr. P. Sambasivan, Principal Dr. George Easaw ably assisted by the Vice Principal Dr. Nilanjana Basu. Administrative powers are further de-centralized and wielded judiciously by Chief Co-oridinator, Co-ordinators, Head of Department, Class Teachers and Subject Teachers. The family also function as Mentors guiding and counseling the students.
T John College Library is the heart of T John College. T John College - Bangalore Library was established in 1993. It is ISO 9001:2001 certified in 2006-07. T John College Library with an area of 4000 sq. meters is used to accommodate sections such as Stocks, Circulations, Periodicals and Reference Section and Computer browsing. At present, the Library has in its stock above 17,227 Books, 350 back volumes apart from reports and CD’s etc., covering a wide variety of subjects. It also receives 70 current Magazines and Journals on different subjects to facilitate current reading. It has access to 7 lakhs of journals and 60 lakhs of full text in e-form and content pages with abstract wherever available.
Training & Placement Cell is involved in securing placements for students passing out from T John College - Bangalore. The Placement Cell keeps close interaction with various industries (Private & Public) and Research & Development organizations, which conduct campus interviews and select the students.
