Today AWH Engineering College - Calicut has 86 institutions dealing with all aspects of disability welfare and general, reaching over 10,000 beneficiaries annually. In fact, AWH is the only one of its kind under Muslim minority management in the country. Special education, higher education and technical education are thrust areas of the AWH. AWH Engineering College - Calicut offered Bachelor courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Master course in Computer Applications.
AWH Engineering College - Calicut building will be in five blocks, each with three floors, built with architectural brilliance. All infrastructure facilities such as laboratories, library, workshop, computer facilities, transport facilities, stand-by diesel generating set, canteen and approach road are ready.All classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. The classrooms and drawing halls are all fully furnished.
The Automated Library of AWH Engineering College - Calicut has an excellent collection of books and magazines on engineering science and related topics. Around 14000 volumes of technical books and several national and international journals are provided to widen the perspective of the students of the AWH Engineering College - Calicut. The collection comprises printed books, CD-ROMs, Audio and video cassettes. The book-bank scheme is functioning very well. The on– line access to DELNET databases provided to cover information in all disciplines. The main Library is functioning from 8am to 6pm on every working days. There are 3056 titles and 8856 volumes.
Facilities are available for testing building materials for outsiders. Separate building is under construction for accommodating other labs like Geo technical lab, Environmental Lab and Computer Center.There are 3 computer Centers with, a strength of 50 in Computer Center I, 50 in Computer Center II and 75 in Computer Centre III. Networking interconnects all Centers. Internet facilities in AWH Engineering College - Calicut are available for use by staff and students. UPS and ACs are provided in the computer center.
Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. Hostels are provided with mess, communication facilities and recreation facilities in the AWH Engineering College - Calicut. There 240 inmates in the hostel. At Present there are six buses between city and the AWH Engineering College - Calicut college for the benefit of day scholars and staff.
Canteen facility is available in the campus. Food items are available at moderate rate. The students of AWH Engineering College - Calicut has participated in various Inter Collegiate Engineering College Competitions including RAGAM, a National Intercollegiate Engineering festival organized by NIT Calicut. The students made the AWH Engineering College - Calicut college proud by winning prizes in RAGAM 2003 and RAGOM 2004. Students also won prizes in State level competitions conducted by MATHRUBUMI. One of the students secured 3rd place in state level technical paper presentation competition.
NSS camp in AWH Engineering College - Calicut was held last year for 10 days at Karassery (December’07). Students attended the Camp. Many special activities like Tree planting and orientation program were also conducted. The AWH Engineering College - Calicut campus is declared as plastic free one and NSS volunteers are helping the authorities for the same.
Play grounds of the AWH Engineering College - Calicut are made available for football, Cricket and Volley Ball. 200 meters track is being laid. Cricket team participated in the intercollegiate tournaments of Calicut University held at Sulthan Bathery. The students union conducted a shuttle badminton tournament as well as a chess tournament.
