Iqbal College - Thiruvananthapuram is managed by the lqbal College Trust, Peringammala, in Nedumangad Taluk. The Trust started its functions aiming to provide charitable and educational services to the society in 1964, when higher education was totally inaccessible to the general public. The venture was geared and accelerated by some visionaries and social reformers of Muslim community in south Kerala. Their united effort with sincerity fructified into giving shape to this college as the signature institution of the Trust. It has since been named after the great poet – philosopher Sir Dr. Allama Muhammed lqbal, the author of the famous patriotic song, “Sare Jahaam se Achchaa, Hindostan humara".
