Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam was established in the year 2001 as a self- financing Engineering College. College has grown manifolds and has earned the reputation as a trend setter in Engineering Education. Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam started its function with 135 students and 35 staffs offering three Engineering Degree courses-B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication and B.Tech in Information Technology. In the year of 2005 B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is also added to the Visajyothi with a change of intakes(60 students/Branch) in all branches.
In 2006 B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is introduced in Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam with same number of intake. With AICTE approval, Department of Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering started one more batch with an intake of 120 students respectively. Viswajyothi is now in the path for offering Post graduate courses in various Engineering fields and in Mater in Business Administration.In the year of 2010 the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is Accredited by National Board of Accreditaion.
The building complex of the Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam is situated in a sprawling campus of 26 acres, nestled among lush greenery over a hillock on the side of the Ernakulam - Thodupuzha State highway.Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam campus is divided into various functional zones Main College Building Namely Block A,Block B. Block C & Block D, Gents Hostel and Ladies Hostel. In addition to Lecture halls, Seminar Halls, Laboratories and drawing halls, the college has two Auditorium, library, Common Computing Center, reading rooms and workshops. The college has spacious playgrounds, basketball court and gymnasium. An ATM counter of Axis bank and South Indian Bank is there in front of the college gate. Adequate Hostel facilities for both boys and girls are available in the campus.

This Library follows open access system, Bar code based circulation process and OPAC Literature Search.

We are providing excellent facilities for sports. We are giving equal preference to sports and games along with the academic activities.
Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam is maintaining a Multi propose stadium with 200 Meter track as well as a Football and Cricket ground. Many football as well as cricket tournaments are held n this stadium. The college has 9 badminton courts (4 indoor and 5 outdoor) where students and staffs are practicing daily. Also we have Volley ball courts and basket ball court.Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam has a Multi Gym with all most modern equipments. Students and staffs are using this facility to keep their health in good condition. Staffs and students can utilize the Gym facility in the early morning and evening times.
Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam provides excellent hostel facilities for students. gent's hostel and ladies hostels are located in the campus itself so it makes easy access between college and students. The hostels and hostel facilities are of high quality and well equipped. The boys hostel can accommodate 150 boys and girls hostel 225 girls respectively Members of the teaching staff are appointed as Resident Tutors in the hostel. The rooms provide most modern facilities and privacy.
The hostel system in the Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam runs under the control of chief warden Rev.Fr. George Kunnamkot (Pro-Manager) and resident tutors. All the hostels have mess facilities for students. The mess is spacious, highly hygienic and elegant. The hostel complex for girls is managed by nuns. Internet and Computer Facilities are also available in the hostel. All students of the Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology - VJCET Ernakulam are given four seater rooms and each student is provided with a cot, a table and a chair in their respective rooms. Each room is provided with a ceiling fan.
