JSS College for Women – Mysore a proud Institution established in 1970 in the city of Mysore is one among the hundreds of fluttering and shining flags of the chariot of Saraswathi. It has been given permanent Affiliation by the University of Mysore in the Year 1995-96 and recognized by U.G.C under section 12B & 2(F). It has been imparting need-based education in the field of Commerce, Humanities and Science. The programmes at JSS College for Women – Mysore offered are B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. and B.B.M. at Under Graduate Level and M.A(Eco) and M.Com at P.G Level and three UGC Sponsored Certificate, Diploma and Advance Diploma courses in Human Resource Management, Foreign Trade & Insurance Management. Acknowledging its inherent quality, the NAAC has accredited the College with B+ Grade. The College has been conferred AUTONOMOUS status w.e.f 2005-06.
The present strength of JSS College for Women – Mysore is 1452, which includes 30% of students from rural areas. The College is ideally located on a sprawling and beautiful Campus. Experienced and dedicated staff members, dynamic office staff, spacious class rooms, computerized Library, well equipped labs, grand auditorium are the attractive features of our College. JSS College For Women – Mysore has secured more than 40 ranks and medals in Degree Examinations conducted by The University of Mysore. In the year 2004-2005 One of our students in B.Com. has secured 97% (679/700) with 1st rank which is a record in the history of University of Mysore.

JSS College for Women – Mysore is equipped with a computerized library, reading room and reference sections. The total number of books is around 30000 and 130 periodicals have been subscribed. Students can borrow books once in a week. It is desired that students can borrow books once in a week. It is desired that students should spend their free time either in the reading room or reference section. Well-equipped laboratories in respect of all the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Botany and Geography have been setup. Bio-chemistry, Micro-Biology and Bio-Technology labs have been established with hi-tech equipments.
JSS College for Women – Mysore has three very modern computer labs with more than 80 systems. Two computer laboratory for training purpose and one lab for internet facility to the students.The computer center also offers short term courses for the benefit of non-computer students. The lab has a network facility connecting the latest computers. The faculty and students are encouraged and allowed to use Internet facilities in the Internet lab located in Library of the College.
JSS College for Women – Mysore has whole heartedly involved itself in creating a second home for our students who come from distant places. The hostel which is just a few steps away from the college has comfortable rooms and other facilities and also a caring warden who also ensures of proper discipline among the students.
Keeping in mind the science students who come from Kannada medium, JSS College for Women – Mysore has started Remedial classes in order to help them in understanding the concepts better & also to quench their thirst for knowledge. Tests are also held at regular intervals to check their progress. JSS College for Women – Mysore gives equal weightage to academic and sports activities. Our students have brought laurels & encomiums to the college at State and National Level games. A State of the Art Multi-gym with financial assistance from UGC has been setup from this academic year.
