L J Institute of Management Studies – LJIMS Ahmedabad was established in the year 2001 under the aegis of Lok Jagruti Kendra Trust to conduct a two- year full-time MBA programme. It strives to create professionals who will lead the economy to a better tomorrow by path of ethics and vision. The Institute till last year was a postgraduate center of Gujarat University however from year 2010, as ordered by Govt of Gujarat, is associated with Gujarat Technological University and the programme is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
L J Institute of Management Studies – LJIMS Ahmedabad is located in serene surroundings near Sarkhej. On the S.G.Road L.J.I.M.S shares a campus of 56000 sq.yards with four other institutions: L.J. Institute of Computer Applications, L.J. Institute of Pharmacy and Research Center, L.J. Institute of Engineering and L.J. Polytechnic College. A disciplined, green environment with sweet sounds of birds, ear- soothing natural sounds with intermingles of grace of arches and the vivacious hunt of knowledge by the young aspirants provide a unique ambience total campus.

The L.J. Institute has excellent computer facilitates with internet connections to serve the students quest for knowledge. There are two separate computer labs are made available to students consisting 210 computer systems which are connected to LAN along with broadband connection of 2 MBPS speed. Computer system is being provided to each faculty member along with broadband connectivity.

A library well stocked with all the necessary volumes is available at the student's disposal. It is the synthesis of theories with working knowledge, together avenues to exploit all the available resources; we can mould our students into thorough professionals, who would become the leaders of their profession.
L J Institute of Management Studies – LJIMS Ahmedabad has a spacious cafeteria located in the basement. It provides refreshments, tea, coffee and cold drinks. It also provides breakfast, lunch and dinner to student residing in the hostel on regular basis. The cleanliness and quality of food snacks etc is constantly monitored by the authorities of the Institute.
The placement process of L J Institute of Management Studies – LJIMS Ahmedabad began in 2001 with the establishment of the institution. Leading industrialists and management consultants were part of the placement committee. Companies like Coca cola, ICICI bank, Times of India, Bhasker, Cadburys etc were among the companies which came to campus to absorb the first batch in 2003. The batch size was of 40 which were offered specializations in the area of finance and marketing. Today the intake of the program is 420 and Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management are offered as specialization.
