Pratapsinh Mohite Patil Mahavidyalaya - Karmala is established in July 2007 to provide higher education to the students belonging to the western part of Karmala Tashil by Hon.Shri.Pratapsinh Shankarrao Mohite-Patil on no grant basis. The area is known for development of the co-operative movement and has number of Co-operative Credit Societies, Dairies, Sugar Industries, Pathsansthas , Banks. Before 2007 the students of the area were forced to go to Mirajgaon( 60 Kms.) , Karjat (35Kms.) , Barshi (70Kms.) for higher education. It was the need of the hour to open the Degree College. The people of the area at large are still under the clutches of the superstitions, traditional farming and the lack of awareness regarding education.
Pratapsinh Mohite Patil Mahavidyalaya - Karmala is situated at Karmala,Tq.Karmala ,Dist.Solapur, Maharashtra. As Pratapsinh Mohite Patil Mahavidyalaya - Karmala started on No Grant basis, it had to face a lot of hardships in the beginning. The financial capacity of the parent and lack of awareness regarding education forces the parents to send their children to the field. The teachers used to approach the parents and the public at large and request them to send their children to the college for their better future. Since its establishment, the Prathishthan has been working for the upliftment of the masses by undertaking various educational, social, cultural activities.
At present the Prathishthan is marching onwards under the able guidance of Hon.Shri Pratapsinh Mohite-Patil, Ex.Member of Parliament, and sitting M.L.C., Hon.Sou.Padmajadevi Pratapsinh Mohite-Patil, Trustee and, Leader of Opposition ,Z.P.Solapur .Hon.
