Sri Paramakalyani College – Tirunelveli was founded in 1963 by Late Sri S. Anantha ramakrishnan, a doyen of Industry in South India and a great visionary. The college is run by the Sri Paramakalyani Education Society, with Sri A. Sivasailam (Padmashree awardee) as President and Sri A. Krishnamoorthy as a member of the governing body. College offers different kind of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The Vedic adage “Through Knowledge to Immortality” is the mission of Sri Paramakalyani College – Tirunelveli. With cent percent efficiency and cent percent character as our goal, we strive to provide value based, quality higher education at an affordable cost to the people living in and around Alwarkurichi. The steady growth of the institution is attributed mainly to the healthy practices and values that are being followed in administering the institution. Apart from the college, the Education Society runs a Higher Secondary School with 1800 students in its roll, 15 bedded hospital providing quality medicare free of cost, a Kalyanamandapam and also a Diamond Cutting Training Institute.
The General Library of Sri Paramakalyani College – Tirunelveli which caters to the academic needs of the students and teachers works between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm on all working days and also between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm on holidays (except state holidays). The services offered in the library are Book Issue, Reference Service, Question Paper Issue, Career Guidance, Book Bank Service, Current Awareness Service, Selective Dissemination of Information service and referral service.
Sri Paramakalyani College – Tirunelveli is equipped with a large playground having facilities to play cricket, volleyball, basketball, ball badminton, tennis etc., and also a well laid out standard 400 meter track. Provision for playing indoor games like table tennis, carom is also available. Intramural matches are conducted to encourage and sharpen the skills of the students.
Sri Paramakalyani College – Tirunelveli has won many intercollegiate matches in several events and especially our ball badminton team has brought in several laurels. The infrastructure available is also utilised for conducting Zonal/University level matches. As an extension activity, the Physical Education Department is conducting Yoga classes and practice for the benefit of students.
