Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur Press came into existence in 1968 during the Vice-Chancellorship of Prof. Dr. Vishweswar Prasad and the then Registrar, Late Amrendra Narayan, in order to meet the day-to-day printing requirements of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur as well as its Constituent Units. A Statutory Press Committee was formed and Dr. Sharda Devi Vedalankar, the then Principal of S. M. College, Bhagalpur, was appointed as the President of the Committee. Initially, the Press was started under the supervision of a Press Manager. Since 1975, the Press is being managed either by a Statutory Officer of the University or by a Professor-In-Charge (deputed from time to time) along with a statutory Press Committee consisting of six members and some invitees also.
The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur Press of Tilka Manjhi, Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar was set up with a view to cope with all the printing work of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur and its constituents units. The Government of Bihar has given financial help for its establishment. The Press has also received some grants from U.G.C. for its development from time to time. Initially the Press was started under the supervision of a Press Manager, Late Shri Sharif Miishra but after his sudden demise in 1975 it is being managed either by a Statutory Officer of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur or by a Professor-in-charge along with a statutory Press committee consisting of six members and some special invitees.
