Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET has been established under the aegis of Continental Group of Institutes. The flagship institute of the group has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, Government of Punjab.
The Continental group made its forays into field of education in 2001. In a short span of nearly a decade, it has carved a niche for itself in the field of imparting quality education of International standard. Since its inception, the group has progressed leaps and bounds and has established Premier Institutes in the field of Engineering, Computer science & Application, IT, Commerce and Management at both graduate and under graduate levels. Continental Group has brought various programs under one roof thereby facilitating the students to pursue education of their passion. It is our conviction that personal and intimate attention inspires the students to develop self confidence, professional knowledge and contemporary skill sets. The focus of the Group is on providing a wide arena in academics for the students stretching from PG/UG courses at International as well as the domestic fronts. The curricula covered are current, relevant and responsive to trends and opportunities.
The Group Institutes are spread over 60 acres of sprawling lush green land right on the National Highway 1(GT Road) between Rajpura and Sirhind. The institute has the distinct advantage of its strategic location being easily accessible from Chandigarh, Mohali, Ambala, Ludhiana, Patiala, Panchkula and New Delhi.
Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET has a highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty. Majority of the faculty members are educated from the top institutes and Universities of the country. Students can always approach any faculty member at any time for any kind of help. The faculty lays emphasis around experimental teaching where students are encouraged to bring out the best in them. Lectures and tutorials are based on experimental material and application. With their broad based experience, the faculty strives to bring out the latent qualities and talents of the students.
The teaching rooms are modern class rooms having latest projection systems, white boards, DVD/VCR players. The class rooms are spacious and well-lighted. Each student has an independent sitting arrangement and is not disturbed by the movement of other students.
Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET library speaks of its outstanding research and education mission. The library is computerized with wi-fi and internet facility which provides a comfortable and friendly environment to everyone that enables learning and advancement of knowledge Spread over 700sq meters the library stocks more than ten thousand books authored by renowned writers and published by well-known publishers in India and abroad. The library subscribes to more than 30 national and international journals and receives eight newspapers. It remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily to enable the hostel students and others to use the library. Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET library issues a Library Card to each authorized user which allows them to borrow books for a period of 15 days.
The Computer Labs have been provided with high end IBM Core 2 Duo desktops which are amply supported by additional peripherals and hardware. A Network has been established with latest Cisco Routers and Cisco Switches. The campus is Wi-fi enabled. Dedicated leased line of 2Mbps is available which provided the students to access the internet at any time. There are a number of software which the students use viz. Windows Server 2003/2000, Windows XP, SQL Server 2005/2000, MS Office XP, Turbo C++, Auto CAD, Pro-E, Visual Studio 2008/2005/2002, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia products, UNIX (SCO), Oracle etc.
Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET has independent fully furnished hostels for girls and boys. Situated within the campus, the hostels can accommodate about 400 students. Basic amenities like water-cooler, hot water supply in winter, common room for recreation, TV room form an integral part of the hostels. Wi-fi internet connectivity round the clock is available to the students of the hostels. The hostel mess provides healthy and hygienic food to the students. The hostelers also have the advantage of using the college library and the computer labs till late hours in the evening.
Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET has an excellent cafeteria which is as beautiful as any top class restaurant. It is appreciable not just for its appearance but also for the delicacies it offers. Wide ranges of food including Indian, Chinese, and Continental meals are available in the cafeteria. Special care is taken to provide hygienic food to the students. All kinds of fresh juices are also available in the cafeteria. A Committee consisting of senior faculty and student representatives has been constituted to look after the affairs of the cafeteria and to monitor the services provided to the users.
Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology-CIET Campus has its own health care centre to look after the health of the students. On campus full time medical assistance is provided to the students through a professionally qualified and experienced doctor. An ambulance is available round the clock for any kind of emergency. The institute has tie-ups with renowned hospitals in the nearby area to handle specialized treatment. In addition to the above a lady doctor visits the campus on alternate days to counsel the girls regarding their health problems.
The Institute offers MBA & degree programmes (B Tech) in the field of Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
