The sapling of Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW, Jalandhar, accredited A+ by NAAC in 2004 was sown as a girls section of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in 1960. Since then, it has been marching onwards with steady and quick strides, not only keeping pace with its other counterparts but has also touched the pinnacle of glory in many other fields which is a matter of great pride for the institution. The Managing Committee of the College consists of zealous educationists’ who, realizing the importance of female education, take care to create such opportunities which may enable the Institution to serve the cause education in the most benefiting manner.
Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW is situated near the Sadar Police Station with G.T. Road on one side of it and Cantt. Road on the other and is flanked by the beautiful eucalyptus plantation which lends healthy and scenic environment to the college.

The college is doing its utmost to keep our inheritance and cultural alive our young girls whom it wants to endow with the qualities of head, heart and mind, so that they may serve may not only the motherland what the world at large as enlightened citizens.
Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW is housed in a commodious building constructed on hygienic lines with its main entrance gate on the Cantt. road side. All instructional and administrative work is carried on in this building. The college has well-equipped labs, spacious and airy classrooms and air-conditioned auditorium though on the same campus, yet totally separate from the college building, a spacious hostel caters to the need of the student coming from outside the city. Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW canteen is properly furnished and well maintained. Lush green lawns with lovely flowers all the year round, not only lend beautiful to the college building, but also provide a very congenial atmosphere for the healthy mental growth of the students.
Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW fully qualified doctor visits the hostel in the morning to provide medical aid to the sick. The dispenser comes in the mornings and evenings to execute the instructions of the doctor. Two girls every year are given medical duty to assist the superintendent in looking after the sick ones. Their main job is to give them prescribed diet and medicines etc at the proper time and render all such help as necessary. Details about the sick ones are duly recorded in a notebook which is placed before the principal every day after the doctor has visited the hostel. She personally visits such cases as required special attention. All preventive measures are taken against seasonal diseases and epidemics, so that girls do not fall ill. Illness in this hostel is a rare occurrence but if and when it is there, proper care is taken. In case of serious and infectious illness, parents are immediately informed and the child is sent home well escorted if necessary. College doctor renders medical aid, as and when necessary.
Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW hostel runs a mess where girls are fully associated in order to make kitchen a success. All efforts are made to provide the girls wholesome and clean diet. Mess Committee consisting of President, vice-President and three members draw the menu and supervise the arrangement with the guidance of hostel Warden and hostel superintendent. Mess charges are to be given in advance before the 10th of very month. No deductions/adjustments will be made in the mess account of the girl if she stays away from the hostel without leave however long the period may be. The hostel has a well-furnished canteen which apart from refreshments, caters to the daily needs of students. Girls do not have to go to market or small errands. Girls can go to the canteen only during fixed hours which are changed according to the needs of the time at the discretion of the Principal.
A library is the heart of an academic institution. Our institution encourages all students and staff members to make best use of the library that has been carefully built up since the inception of the college. Lyallpur Khalsa College for Woman-LKCW library is housed in a spacious area, fully computerized and conditioned with Reference Section, Magazine Section and Stack Area. Presently there are more than 23,000 books and reference volumes stacked in English, Hindi and Punjabi languages for the benefit of staff and students. There is an established media resource centre. Our library follows the open access system and is encouraging students to browse in the stack area. The library subscribes more than 80 specialized journals, over one third of them being international.
