Sacred Heart College – Vellore is a minority institution, established and administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco(SDB). The first care of the management is to give Higher Education to the Catholic youth in a Christian atmosphere of peace, justice and social responsibility with a preferential option for the poor among them. The College is also open to students of all castes and creeds other than Catholics. Their religious beliefs are respected in this institution. College offers different kind of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Sacred Heart College – Vellore is situated at Tirupattur, Vellore(Dt), Tamil Nadu. We, the community of Sacred Heart College – Vellore, inspired by the love of the Heart of Jesus and fundamental human values, following the educative system of Don Bosco, are committed to the creation of an educated, ethical, and prosperous society where equality, freedom and fraternity reign by imparting higher education to poor and rural youth which enables them towards integral human development.
Sacred Heart College – Vellore library adequately equipped with books covering wide range of disciplines of academic and non-academic interest. The college also subscribes for international and national journals, periodicals and newspapers for the students and faculty members at the college library. Hostel facilities are provided separately for I year, II year, III year, P.G. and women students and evening college students. The postgraduate students are provided with additional facilities in the hostel. The hostels are maintained and administered directly by the management. In addition to the extra curricular activities conducted in Sacred Heart College – Vellore, the hostels conduct their own programmes on spirituality, personality development, martial art, communicative English, social activities, sports, entertainments and inter-hostel tournaments. The annual parents meet and the hostel day create an opportunity for personal interaction and improvement.

At Sacred Heart College – Vellore NCC activities are extended to village adoption blood donation, tree Plantation and visiting hospitals. Programmes like "adult literacy", 'each one teach one' and regular NCC parades (during weekends) are conducted. For NCC "C Certificate holders there is a special Entry in Army/ Navy/Airforce for entering into SSB (Short Service Commission Board ). The Institution has ex-Cadet Association. The ex-Cadets who are in regular Army Service give career guidance to the present cadets. NSS of Sacred Heart College – Vellore rendered computer literacy to rural students of Pachal, Chinna Mookanur and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Nagar in union with Rotary Club, Tirupattur. 500 rural students received this literacy.
