The Sankara Education institution, sponsored by the Coimbatore Educational and Cultural Foundation Trust, were founded by ‘Kalvi Chemmal’ Sri T.k. Pattabhiraman with the blessing of his holiness Paramachariar and the foundation stone was laid by late Raja Sir Muthiah Chettiar, Pro-chancellor, Annamalai University in August, 1982.

The serene ambiance facilitates learning and has been an inspiration to our students. Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore campus structure itself is designed aesthetically and features the most modern facilities. The Organization is technology driven and has applied advanced solutions for managing its varied operations.
Thiru Mahatma Gandhi said, the present day university is nothing but a cluster of books. Our library is working as an example for the above saying. Library possesses clusters of books but in an ordered manner. It is computerized for the benefit of the students and is working 12 hours a day. Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore are providing book bank facilities to the students, thereby, students from low financial background can take text books for all their subjects with the due period of one semester. Recently expanded canteen is opened for accession to the students for their welfare. Expanded canteen has been constructed to give pleasant environment at all time throughout the year.
Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore can accommodate more than 100 students at a time. It caters the needs of the students of various backgrounds and of different places all over the world. We ensure the foods of five star hotel qualities at road side shop rate. Foods provided are delicious, tasty and digestive. A month-end-payment facility is provided in our canteen. Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore hostel serves as a home away from home for the students. Every conceivable facility is provided to the students. Separate hostels are available for both boys and girls with attached bath rooms. Amenities like modern gymnasium, indoor games and telephone facility etc., are available.
Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore offers six different types of Diploma courses leading to Engineering and Technology streams. Twice in every semester, we arrange industrial visit for benefit of the students in view of giving them a glimpses of industrial exposure. It is compulsory for all students. For industrial visit, students would have to pay a nominal amount which depends upon the location of the industry to which they are visiting for.
Sankara Institute of Technology – Coimbatore are providing students the industrial training for 15-30 days after every semester which is compulsory for all students except the final semester. One of the major advantages by this training is that, students become aware of the present technology being applied in the industries they are trained in. With the innovative ideas, they can find the demands if any, in the industry and can work on it in order to meet the requirements.
