RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul was started in 1984 with the prime aim of carving out an outstanding academic niche, in the enterprising, enlightening and innovation advancing modern domain of Technical Studies. The Rathinavel Subramaniam Polytechnic College, Dindigul is a co-educational institution under the management of Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust, started in the memory of Rathinavel Subramaniam son of Vijayashree - Dr. K.V. Kupusamy, the Chairman, R.V.S Educational Trust.
RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul is situated 8 Kms from Dindigul town on the Karur road via Gujiliamparai.The College is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institution. It is the endeavor of the institution to glow radiantly in every sphere of activity. RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul mission is to impart our student’s sound technical and practical, knowledge on hand training in actual work situations, character building and above all discipline. Our vision is to produce highly competent engineers and quality technocrats though continual improvement of the standards of excellence in teaching, training and making them sound fit for the technological and Industrial growth of our nation.
RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul have 2 units of National Service Scheme in our polytechnic college. All the students are the volunteers and there are 100 active volunteers in each unit. We have conducted one day activities like world AIDS day, one day Road Cleaning Camp on Dindigul- Palani highway, one day Campus Cleaning Camp, Independence Day Celebrations, Meditation Camp Besides those, a good number of service activities are planned by the RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul jointly with Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club.
As per the directions from the Directorate of technical Education , Chennai 10 day special camp is being organized every year focusing all our care towards the development of interior rural village. Nearly 100 volunteers stayed in a village and moved freely with the villagers and helped them to satisfy of their needs. Our NSS units are selected as the best units twice by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai.
The library in RVS Polytechnic College – Dindigul campus has more than 12000 books on various topics. Both staff and students are regularly utilizing this facility. We have a proposal to create a digital library with internet connectivity. Computerization of library activities is already started. College offers different kind of Diploma courses leading to Engineering and Technology stream with various specializations.
