Selvam College of Technology – SCT Namakkal was established in the year of 2006, is one of the eleven educational institutions nurtured by V. Ponnusamy educational and charitable Trust which is founded by Dr.P.Selvaraj, Chairman of the trust.

He is pioneer in the Poultry Industry and responsible for putting Namakkal in the Poultry Map of India. To help the rural communities he started eleven Educational Institutions. In this background he started this Engineering College with a Motto of producing self confident world class engineers.

Library of Selvam College of Technology – SCT Namakkal is situated in the first floor of the college. This library was established in the year 2006 with 5000 books. Presently, it accommodates 11,300 books for the benefit of the students. There are 65 International journals, 60 National journals and 25 magazines in this library. The library functions with LIPS-i-NET software system with barcode scanning facility. The documents in the library are bar-coded for circulation purposes. The students and staff should enroll their roll number in the E-Gate system while entering the library.
